23.01.2022 Well done Australia!!! and what a relief to know that we recognise that everyone has equal rights and there are no second class citizens. This debate became more than a vote on same sex marriage when people were being damaged by ignorant, biased comments which denied the facts of our genetic make up.

23.01.2022 Happy day. No second class citizens. I made a new friend a few months ago while waiting for our grandchildren at a bus stop. We chatted often over the past few weeks about her work, here and overseas, and her life in Australia. I was able to congratulate her when she was granted residential status and I was very pleased when I saw her yesterday when we had a hug to celebrate the successful YES vote. It was she who said that Australia has recognised that we do not want to have second class citizens.

21.01.2022 Another delightful weekend coming up. Meeting on Saturday one brother from overseas with his fiancee to discuss their November wedding. They are here for the marriage I am solemnising on Sunday for his brother. Another family celebrant role which I love doing.

18.01.2022 Here are two commemorative booklets of the ceremony and the boxes I made for the ribbons which the brides children or the couples parents tied over the couples hands. I have great pleasure in creating these keepsakes for a couple. Each booklet is unique, with different covers and ribbons binding the booklet. The box takes a lot more time but I am always delighted when I see the reactions of the bride and groom.

14.01.2022 I am very proud to say that I was the celebrant for the wedding mentioned in the cover story in this weekends Good Weekend, http://www.smh.com.au//coming-soon-perthlondon-direct-flig

14.01.2022 Hoooraaaayyy!!!! What a fabulous new world opened up for us last night. No more second class citizens!! Not just equality for marriage but equality as people!!! From tomorrow George Brandis has said that I can take Notices of Intended Marriage from same sex couples and has even quoted the new definition of marriage as a union of two people rather than the union of a man and a woman. Joyful times!!

12.01.2022 Today I will be solemnising the marriage of a woman I knew years ago when she was a junior high school student. I am delighted that she came across my name and found me. I love these weddings of people I have known at a different time and I am honoured when former students ask me to be their celebrant. These weddings have the warmth that I bring to all weddings but they are also much more special because of that connection with a past time and past events. I love my profession even more on days like today.

11.01.2022 Well, I seem to be always too busy to add to my posts, so I must become more disciplined. A funeral and two weddings last weekend and this weekend I had a great time training students to become Marriage Celebrants in my work with Life Skills Training. I will add some photos of my table in lots of different locations for weddings soon -my newest venture is having 'Elopement Specials' in my bushland garden - just five of us (the couple, two witnesses and me) and sometimes the witnesses are my wife and a neighbour. Short ceremony but still romantic and with some magic moments at a reduced fee - but no reduced pleasures. I

10.01.2022 This week has been fabulous, starting with my presentation of celebrant training in Coffs Harbour, then Newcastle and today at Long Reef - wonderful to share experiences with dedicated marriage celebrants. Honoured to be working for Sally Cant at Life Skills Training and Celebrants Training College.

07.01.2022 The weekend began especially well with a meeting on Friday of a couple to plan their wedding for late January. I had known them briefly as colleagues in a school where I still teach occasionally and the groom-to-be had remembered that I was a Marriage Celebrant. Their marriage is one of those very special unions of a couple who had met years ago and had travelled on their separate paths but were still simply colleagues at work. We just do not know where or when our path will cross the path of that one person we are meant to meet do we??

07.01.2022 Hello all, seriously busy times mean that I have been slow to post and write, but I have had more joyful experiences with fabulous couples. My aim from now is to get busy with my camera and make time to share these beautiful experiences.

03.01.2022 This was a glorious day on The Bennelong Lawn with The Opera House as a backdrop. The bride and groom were very relaxed and delightfully happy. A truly memorable wedding!

02.01.2022 Saturday began with a happy meeting with a young couple whose marriage I solemnised in November. They had come to collect their Official Certificate which I ordered for them. We had developed a wonderful relationship and the wedding ceremony was exactly what they wanted...and more. It was such a happy time for them. They shocked me by giving me a gift because they thought that I had not been paid enough!! The smile from Friday became much more because of their thoughtfulness. A birthday lunch for our daughter-in-law and time with her, our son and two gorgeous grandchildren followed to make me even happier.
