22.01.2022 Galactic is the third and final program in Frontiers, and these activities will challenge members to reach new levels in their public speaking skills and confidence. Frontiers has been created to help all Rostrum members develop their public speaking skills, and it consists of three separate programs Launchpad, Orbit, and Galactic. Members work through each program, keeping both personal and club records for their activities, and then apply for a Certificate of Completion after each of the programs. 21.01.2022 Rostrum Club 22 had an amazing leap in its efforts last week to conduct a successful Hybrid meeting in a new venue - Plympton community center, Adelaide. Here a...re the following highlights; Margaret Kirchner chaired the hybrid meeting keeping interests of our offline and online members aligned to the agenda. Club President Gerard O'Leary inducted new member Khalia primer into the club. Matthew won the Rex pobke spot on award for his insightful speech on the theme 'Laughter is the best medicine'. Our youngest member Harry Cockburn won the Banjo top phrase award through his speech 'I couldn't stop laughing'. And Coach Heather Layton gave her constructive evaluation of the meeting at the end. Club always find its way to socialize, innovate and materialize its vision of creating a fun learning environment for all of its members. 19.01.2022 What Rostrum has done for me? Today I very successfully presented a PowerPoint presentation to ~150 people located across Australia via Microsoft Teams. This is... something I couldnt have done 7 years ago prior to joining a Rostrum club. Tuesday evening I had a programmed speech, but when I asked if could practice a in-depth technical presentation I received enthusiastic encouragement. I received great feedback that improved my slides, and confirmed my computer setup was idea. Like the pictured train, I was able to maintain steam, avoid unwanted "filler words", maintain a good pace, and carry my audience along an interesting journey. This takes preparation, training and practice to perfect. It looks so easy once perfected, but needs on-going practice to maintain the skills required.
