Well done Geoff for all your contributions at both Club 26 and at the Port Adelaide Rostrum Club - greatly appreciated and acknowledged.

23.01.2022 Rostrum Club 26 held a very important milestone meeting on Tuesday 21st May 2019 - its 900th meeting. A great meeting chaired by Dennis Walsh and attended by several prominent past members (Barbara Colbert, Richard Geyer, Mel Tickle, Di Hart, Helen Arthur to name a few). The meeting brought together the past, the present and the future and provided the opportunity to share the Clubs exciting and interesting history. As usual, our coach, Andrew Downing provided expert feedback and all attendees were invited to breakfast and coffee after the meeting to continue reminiscing. A great meeting and one that will feature prominently in the Clubs history as we move upwards and onwards. Thank you to all attendees for making this meeting something special .

21.01.2022 At the Rostrum Club 26 Christmas Breakfast Meeting on 7th December 2019, Coach Andrew Downing awarded the Best Speaker Award for 2019 to Helen Bowen. Congratulations Helen, we can all learn something from your marvellous speeches and very professional and empathetic technique

21.01.2022 Another great meeting of Rostrum Club 26 on Tuesday 2nd July 2019. Chantel Frost did an outstanding job of chairing the meeting (her first go at Chairing) which attracted 22 attendees. The four speakers were asked to speak to Speaker of the Year topics. Lilly chose "Now is the Hour", Bob chose "If I had My Way", Michael chose "A Race Against Time" and Joanna chose "The View is Worth the Climb". Plenty for people to take away from these speeches including use of humour, song, structure, strong endings. Well done to all the speakers and thanks to Coach Andrew for some very insightful feedback . Well do it all again (same topics - different speakers) at our next meeting on Tuesday 16th July.- cant wait

21.01.2022 The Bowley family were well represented at the last Rostrum Club 26 meeting on Tuesday 19th November 2019. Not only did we have Margaret and Geoff, who are long term Rostrum Club 26 members, we also had the great pleasure of a visit from a third Bowley - Helen. It was great to see the three Bowleys all in the one place and we are very optimistic that Margaret and Geoff between them, will gently coax Helen into considering joining Club 26 or Club 33, or even better still, both Clubs, in 2020. Thank you Margaret and Geoff for your outstanding contributions to both Club 26 and 33 and thank you Helen for your ongoing visits to each Club - greatly appreciated.

19.01.2022 Another great meeting, put together by our outstanding Program Manager, Geoff Bowley. Geoff managed to incorporate a lot into our one hour on Tuesday 4th June 2019. Two maiden speeches from our two newest members - Yolanda Li and Jo Manuel, a speech from one of our longer serving members, Delia Brennan and an interesting pertinent question exercise posed and hosted by Margaret Davidson. The meeting managed to compress a significant amount of content into limited time and everyone learnt something and witnessed something special from our speakers. Thank you to all who attended this meeting - cos without you we wouldnt have a meeting. Seeya next meeting

18.01.2022 Kathie Stephenson set a new record at the Rostrum Club 26 meeting on 3rd March 2020. Club members hadnt stepped outside the building and the Minutes of the meeting were already waiting for them in their inboxes, beautifully formatted and superbly recorded. We know the Chairperson, Geoff Bowley, was impressed because he mentioned it during the meeting and other members were equally impressed and provided very thoughtful feedback back to Kathie on her outstanding record-breaking achievement. Well done Kathie, we just hope that you havent set a new standard cos I dont think many of us will be able to match it

18.01.2022 Rostrum Club 26 was honoured to have two very special visitors from the mighty Port Adelaide Rostrum Club - Kerry Harris and John Rudloff. It was great to see these two visitors at the Christmas Breakfast meeting and on behalf of all members of Club 26 we wish Kerry and John a very merry Christmas and happy new year and look forward to them both achieving very special things as they progress along their Rostrum journey in 2020 and beyond.

Margaret Davidson and Joanna Raubiszko introduced Yolanda and Jo and the Club welcomed our newest members. We all look forward to Yolandas and Jos contribution to the Club and watching as they develop their public speaking and meeting management skills.

14.01.2022 Many people participated in the Rostrum Club 26 Christmas Breakfast meeting including the President, Helen Bowen, who delivered her Presidents report and a number of Awards. Several members and visitors delivered a number of impromptu speeches. Bob Pearce, attempted to bowl us over with only limited success. Akash Trada welcomed all our visitors. Coach Andrew Downing presented a number of Awards and of course Freeman Margaret Davidson kept us all on track while her brother Geoff, took all the photos.

09.01.2022 An interesting opportunity for Club 26 members and visitors to share their experiences and expertise?

09.01.2022 A very high quality meeting again for Rostrum Club 26 today (16/7/19). We heard some outstanding speeches from Craig Walker, Margaret Davidson and Einer Herringe. We listened to some interesting and little known facts about the moon landing in 1969 from Craig. We heard about that special place from Margaret who used no notes at all. And we heard the fact that Einer did not have the gift of the gab. Einer then promptly proved that he did indeed have a wonderful master...y of the gift of the gab and delivered a great speech on this topic. Congratulations to all our speakers today on some very entertaining, informative and well delivered speeches. Our President, Helen Bowen expertly inducted our newest member, Rhianna Sharman into the Club and we look forward to Rhiannas About Me speech in the coming weeks. Glenda Mather did a great job in chairing the meeting and was able to close the meeting on time with no hiccups along the way. Well done Glenda. And finally, with little notice, Julie Cranswick stepped in to the coaching role and offered some very helpful comments and feedback to the speakers and about the meeting more generally. Thank you Julie for your valuable insights today. We didnt take any photos today (the camera wont focus from the Cook Islands) but will post some pics from the Rostrum anniversary lunch soon. See you all at the next meeting. See more

08.01.2022 The President in action -

08.01.2022 November 19th 2019 was a very special day for Rostrum Club 26. It was the day the Club held its 2019 Persuasive Speaking Competition Final. We had five outstanding finalists, Chantel Frost, Geoff Bowley, Margaret Davidson, Craig Walker and Trevor Gordge. As expected, the competition was fierce, as we had on show the best speakers for 2019, all having survived the previous knockout rounds. It was extremely difficult to decide how to cast the votes and ultimately, it wa...s Craig Walker (again) who was our very deserving winner. Coach Andrew Downings comments regarding what a great initiative the Persuasive Speaking Competition is, and how all members benefit from witnessing some truly outstanding speeches, are so true. Well done to all participants in this years competition and I am sure you are all looking forward to getting your name on the trophy in 2020. In the meantime - Craig remains supreme and will be going for three in a row next year See more

07.01.2022 Members of Rostrum Club 26 were part of a very special celebration last Sunday. Not only were we acknowledging Rostrum SAs 83rd Anniversary over a fun lunch where we were entertained by two great speakers; but our very own Club 26 member, Margaret Davidson, was acknowledged for her consistently outstanding service at both Club, Zone and community level. Zone President Rod Ellis elevated Margaret to Freeman...a significant recognition in the Rostrum world. (Since 1940 only 104 Rostrum SA members have been elevated to Freemen and the last was in 2016.) Heartiest congratulations on your well deserved recognition Margaret.

06.01.2022 President Helen Bowen thought about hightailing it to New York to personally give Dr Kate Robertson her Neil McLean Award but settled for announcing Kate as the winner at the Christmas Breakfast meeting. Well done Kate. We can wait to hear all about your New York adventure when you return in 2020

06.01.2022 Well done Geoff! Great programming of the Grab Bag today (18/6/19). You even got our newest visitor, Rhianna, to have a go. 04.01.2022 Chantel Frost was adjudged Club 26s most improved speaker for 2019 by Coach Andrew Downing. Well done Chantel - very well deserved. Some of your speeches in 2019 have been very heartfelt and passionate, no wonder you have picked up this very prestigious award in recognition of your ever strengthening speaking skills.

04.01.2022 Woo Hoo!!! Another new member for Rostrum Club 26. Debby Nathanael was superbly inducted into the Club by the President, Lilly Fitzgerald and long term member, Trevor Gordge, at the 3rd March 2020 meeting. Referencing the diversity of the Clubs membership and Debbys Indonesian background, Lilly warmly welcomed Debby to the Club. We all look forward to watching Debby grow her confidence, public speaking and meeting management skills over the next few months. Welcome Debby, and we cant wait to hear some more about you, when you deliver your About Me speech.

04.01.2022 Loved that vicious circle. Well done Chantel in winning the Geoff Moffat Bright Spark Award today. Great impromptu speech about your massager and great thinking on your feet. We all learnt heaps today from some great speeches from all attendees and from Einers helpful and useful coaching. Looking forward to our next meeting.

02.01.2022 Here is a very serious looking Mel Tickle, a Rostrum Club 26 stalwart, looking a bit out of character.... hes never that serious It was great to see Mel at the Rostrum Club 26 meeting on 3rd March and it is even more exciting news that Mel has agreed to speak at the Clubs 40th Anniversary breakfast. You will pick up some great public speaking tips by watching him in action.
