21.01.2022 Lets meet: Natalia Doshi the new President of The Rotaract Club of Burwood, Inc. Years in rotaract: 2 Years Why you joined rotaract: At first I joined because I was looking for a place to volunteer and do social service but when I came in I realised that we are way more than that! ... Your rotary moment: Every moment of RYLA! What you hope to achieve this year: This year I hope to involve everyone deeply in the club rather than just show up for events or meetings but actually be a key factor in driving initiatives. Your karaoke song: 'I Knew You Were Trouble' - Taylor Swift or actually anything by Taylor Swift haha!
20.01.2022 Over the last few years we have seen a few of our strongest Rotaract Clubs hand back their charter. Below is a note from Zach the last President of the Rotaract Club of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). "It is with great sadness. I announce today that UTS Rotaract is officially folded; we made this decision last year to not continue within 2020. I want to thank our sponsor clubs and the Rotary / Rotaract community for being tremendous support throughout the years. T...oday I want to share my experience of Rotaract as both a member and a President. Back in 2016, I joined Rotaract; I was an antisocial, incredibly shy person. In my first year as a member, I gained social skills and became more confident, which helped me grow along with making a wealth of new friends. It was in 2017 that the club nearly folded; however, I was determined not to let UTS Rotaract die as we wanted to continue to have the club that helped me so much to help others still. We relaunched the club with passion and managed to give UTS Rotaract and an additional two years and achieved what I wanted to, which was having the club be an outlet of personal growth. Throughout those two years, members of UTS Rotaract went on to achieve so much both on a career level and personal growth level. I shared many great experiences, including that time we all tried to take a group photo and broke the table, along with many fun and rewarding events like games nights, karaoke, brainstorming meetings, volunteering, and more. Being President at UTS Rotaract from 2018-2020 was the best experience of my life so far; it gave me the skills and knowledge to lunch into my industry as a young professional and leader, along with helping me realize being social is a crucial part to enjoying life. If I could give one piece of advice, don’t stick to what your comfortable in, take the leap into something you wouldn’t normally do (like me joining a Rotaract club), it may very well change your life too. UTS Rotaract wishes you all the best for the future." Zachary Krahe 2018-2020 President of UTS Rotaract Club.

15.01.2022 Introducing our district secretary!!! The amazing Alex Malubag Hailing from the @The Rotaract Club of Burwood, Inc. Alex has been a part of Rotaract for the last 3.5 years! Alex joined Rotaract straight after hearing about it at RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) as a way to maintain the leadership skills that she developed during the program and to make a positive difference in the community. But she stayed because of all the people she met and the things she's learned.... Alex's Rotary moments was attending the 2018 Rotary Presidential Peacebuilding Conference in Sydney. It was on Economic and Community Development, and Peace, and it was the moment that made her appreciate the power and potential of Rotary. This year Alex would like to complete some new initiatives, especially one to do with supporting the environment. She also wants to further the Burwood Rotaract mission of "Connecting and inspiring youth for a better community". It'll be extra challenging during the current crises, but she is looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this year!!

09.01.2022 Lets meet: Daniel the new president of UoW Rotaract Club (The Rotaract Club of the University of Wollongong) Daniel has been in Rotaract for 2 years and joined because he was previously involved in Interact back in high school but often found it to be restricting and wasnt able to offer as much as he could to the community. Rotaract offered a way for him to invest more of himself into humanitarian projects and allowed a channel to make real change within the local and global... community. Daniels Rotary moment: Ive had so many times where I've said "Wow! This is why I want to be a part of Rotary" that it's hard to keep track of them! But my favourite is one that happens often. Whenever we have a club meeting, everyone always gets so enthusiastic about holding a fundraiser or doing a project or they are just so eager to work as a team to bring some positivity to the world. It makes so excited to see it, the feeling is absolutely intoxicating and everytime it happens I'm left telling myself "This is what I want to be a part of, this is what rotary has to offer" What you hope to achieve this year: This year offers many hurdles for us to overcome, not just as a club but as a community and on a personal level. This year, our club is going to be working towards raising awareness for crises that are currently happening around the globe, and hopefully finding ways to make meaningful impacts through raising funds, or sending supplies. We will also be focusing more on our professional development, to make sure our club is putting out some of the brightest young leaders that the community has to offer! Your karaoke song: Well.... I can't sing, but I will never miss a beat when singing Valerie by Amy Winehouse #rotaryinternational #rotaract #president #communityservice #volunteering #fundraiser #awareness #professionaldevelopment #district9675
