08.01.2022 World Polio Day is celebrated on October 24th. World Polio Day was established by Rotary International to commemorate the birth of Jonas Salk, who led the first team to develop a vaccine against poliomyelitis. The world is now nearly Polio free. Join Batemans Bay Rotary to be part of this amazing cause.

07.01.2022 Rotary Steps Up - Observation Point Stairway Completed The Rotary Club of Batemans Bay has been successful in allocating a Community Building Partnership Grant of $20,400 towards the cost of constructing the stairway and pathway between Corrigans Beach and Observation Avenue. This project has been recently completed by Eurobodalla Shire Council staff and will make accessing Observation Point much easier. The stairs are based on designs that have been used at a number of beach... access locations around the shire, and use materials which are resilient in the environment. The inclusion of fibre reinforced mesh and stainless steel fixings allow the stairs to have a long asset life with minimal ongoing costs. At the top of the stairs an 18 metre concrete path leading to Observation Point has been constructed. Rotary Batemans Bay has been actively working with Eurobodalla Shire Council since 2014 to upgrade the facilities at Observation Point and will continue to do so until the entire upgrade has been realised. It will provide a much enhanced and safer environment where community and tourists can view spectacular panoramas of the Batemans Bay coastline and hinterland.
