10.01.2022 So nice to see everyone's faces again after a long break. The Edge had our first physical meeting in months this week. We're always looking for new members so if you've been wanting to give back to the community in some way and have fun doing it, drop us a line. Thanks to the North Toowoomba Bowls Club for having us on Wednesday!
10.01.2022 This is one of those moments that makes you proud to be a Rotarian. As part of helping the community our club cooked roughly 80 meals - ranging from spag bol to fried rice and everything in between - for Tony’s Kitchen, which were distributed to people in need last night. In April the kitchen was feeding on average 25-30 people a night. They might be homeless, or just going through a rough patch and are finding it hard to make ends meet. Demand has basically doubled through the pandemic and now they feed on average 55 people per night. Drop us a message or a comment if you're keen to get involved in Rotary and take part in great initiatives like this! (we do plenty more!)
10.01.2022 Past District Governor Ros Kelly was in town today to present us with some awards! In the top pic we have (left to right) RCOTS president Barry Fagg, Project School Formal founder Gay Hold, Mayor Paul Antonio, and PDG Ros Kelly. RCOTS and The Edge were awarded the District 9630 award for best project for our involvement in Project School Formal. Then down below we have Barry, Ros, and Arthur Carpenter. Those two awards are for our involvement in the combined Toowoomba Rotary donation to Yellowbridge earlier this year.
08.01.2022 We may not be able to solve world hunger, but there will be many people today that will be fed!! Kindness is infectious, well done team this is what caring for our own means!!
06.01.2022 Well that's one way to do it. Due to COVID-19 restrictions everyone jumped on Zoom to watch this year's combined Rotary Club of Toowoomba South and The Edge changeover. Congratulations to new RCOTS president Barry Fagg and The Edge chair Tressa Lindenberg, and thanks to outgoing president Brad Hogan and outgoing chair Art Carpenter and the board for their efforts over the past year. The good work continues!
