19.01.2022 Two great learning opportunities.

13.01.2022 2020 has seen Interplast working collaboratively with local partners to identify opportunities for the medical professionals we support across the Asia Pacific ...to participate in education and training being delivered remotely including that being delivered in-country by our partners. Recently our colleagues in Sri Lanka delivered their Annual Surgical Congress virtually, and we were pleased to be able to offer support to clinicians from neighbouring countries to join in both enhancing their education opportunities and strengthening regional linkages. Dr Sonam Jamtsho from Bhutan (pictured) was one who took up this opportunity, and he reported back to us that the congress was very informative, especially related to cancer, trauma, minimally invasive surgery and recent advances, which I will share with my colleagues so that we can try to incorporate them into our national treatment protocols in Bhutan. For Interplast, being able to support the delivery of the virtual Congress in Sri Lanka is part of our focus to strengthen sustainable health systems, taking the lead in the delivery of their own health education.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our programs is essential to ensure that we are meeting our objectives and continuing to address locally identified need in a sustainable way. This evaluation was part-funded by Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade ’s ANCP. You can read the full report here: https://zcu.io/12qS
