06.05.2022 Alena Ng, is our NYSF candidate. Alena, her mother Connie and teacher Brenda attended our club to present the National Youth Science Forum experiences to the members. A very compelling talk that indicates the length and breadth of the contacts and activities had by the attendees. Brenda also talked about the interact Club that is maturing at the local Byford Secondary College. Thankyou.
17.04.2022 It's BINGO time again, tomorrow Friday at 6pm, with 'eyes down' at 7pm. The venue at the Byford Recreation Centre, Briggs Park is air conditioned, with snacks and drinks available. We are responding to the recent Covid 19 requirements. This means masks are required and "proof of vaccination" is to be presented for at least 2 vaccinations. Come along and be cool,........see you there.
05.04.2022 It is always good to celebrate our volunteers. At this year's Australia Day awards, Rotary presented its 24th annual "Service Above Self" award to Ray Thorneloe. With more than 40 years of service to many and various groups and events, he is a worthy recipient. Congratulations Ray and to all of the SJ Shire awardees and nominees.
26.03.2022 It is with great pleasure that we induct our latest new member Wendy Jeffery. The club and partners and kids celebrated the event with a visit to the Jarrahdale Tavern. Great trucker, using the Shire's volunteer donation and enjoying each others company. Well done to Wendy and Wayne and family for joining our Rotary team.

26.02.2022 Another friendly and successful night last Friday at Bingo. Everyone enjoyed the air conditioning and Ramone's calling and toasties. Hope to see everyone next Friday the 28th. Our day time event starts at 10am, doors open, with the 1st call at 11am. Come and have a coffee with us. In the evening, doors open at 6pm, with the 1st call at 7pm. A lovely cool environment
09.02.2022 We're back!!! Rotary BINGO on Friday the 14th January. Open at the Byford Rec Centre off Mead Street, at 6pm for a 7pm start. Come and join us. This is a 'service to the community' event with all proceeds going back to local projects. See you there.
07.02.2022 This year's end of school book awards, celebrated the year 6 's leaving to go to high school. Well done everyone and to the awardees. Byford & Districts Rotary is pleased to assist in funding the event and presenting to the "Service Above Self" citizenship awardees. Thanks to the Covid funding from Lotterywest and the McGowan Government to allow this outcome. This is me at Serpentine and Mundijong, no pics from Jarrahdale.

22.01.2022 A great day at the Jarrahdale Oval and the SJ Men's Shed Fair. We were cooking donuts with our team from the Byford & Districts Club. With Kylee, Ramone and Sharlene doing the specialised roles and Mel, our chief cook and Sheila on the till we enjoyed fellowship with ourselves and with the public. NRG member Dave arrived to help wrap up the effort and secure the Club's trailer. Special congratulations to Jeanie, who travelled from Mandurah to lend a hand. Top job everyone.

The Paul Harris Society recognizes Rotary members and friends of The Rotary Foundation who contribute a large amount of time and funds each year to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus Fund, or approved global grants. The purpose of the Paul Harris Society is to honor and thank individuals for their generous, ongoing support of The Rotary Foundation. Our Rotary Club along with many other community groups and NFP's received checks that demonstrated their efforts over the past months. Despite Covid-19 limitations over $30,000.00 was raised. A great effort by all.

This International Tree Day saw LandcareSJ leading and Byford Rotary, the SJ Food and Farm Alliance, the SJ Shire, the Bendigo Bank and others plant trees at the Coffey Road Reserve in Serpentine. We finished off with a cuppa and a sausage sizzle. Well done all.

01.01.2022 A great morning spent planting trees for National Tree Day!
01.01.2022 Last evening at the Club's NRG meeting, President Denise presented the District 9465 funding cheque to representatives from the uniting Church "Crisis Care" group. The group represented by Helen and Lyn have been working in the Serpentine Jarrahdale community for many years, focussing on domestic violence victims, the homeless, families in crisis, school support and many other needy persons. This $1000.00 and the 'crisis care' packs will go a long way to helping support these local initiatives. Well done.
01.01.2022 Our Rotary Club in Byford celebrated it's 1st 'face to face' meeting with great fellowship, stories and energy. The combined NRG and members group were appreciative of the grant funding secured through Lotterywest, the Shire and the District. This will allow our members to continue to serve their various communities. Well done to everyone and let's "walk through the door of new opportunities".
