25.01.2022 Rotary uses the diverse perspective of our 1.2 million members, like David Beretta to solve the world's most challenging problems. From cutting fire wood, to collecting, bagging and selling sheep manure to running Art shows and selling hotdogs at the Geelong Show and lots more, David Beretta has given decades of Rotary service to local and international communities. Last night we were proud to award and celebrate his 50 years of wonderful service. ... THANK YOU David Beretta, still going strong...well done!

15.01.2022 Vale Stan Deans The Rotary Club of Geelong East is deeply saddened by the passing of a great Rotarian and friend we simply knew as Stan. Stan Deans joined the Rotary Club of Warracknabeal in September 1968 and served that community for 34 years. He then transferred to the Rotary Club of Beaufort in December 2002 until he and wife Carol moved to Geelong and joined the Rotary Club of Geelong East in July 2009.... As a fitting recognition of Stan’s wonderful contribution to Rotary and service to the community for over 50 years, Stan earned a total of four highly prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Awards. Stan’s focus in Rotary was anything country and youth, with support for Youth Exchange, RYLA, Rotaract and Group Study Exchange with his signature project being Defying the Drift. Like many people from the country, Stan loved a chat and will be remembered as a warm and gracious friend who greeted you with a lovely smile and strong handshake. Stan Deans funeral will be held 11am this Thursday Aug 27. Those wishing to be an online guest at Stan’s service please visit. http://jhfunerals.com.au/live-stream/ Our sincerest condolences to Carol and family. Stan is now in higher service.
