25.01.2022 COVID-19 testing is available for all Tasmanians. You need to be tested for COVID-19 if you have any symptoms of: a fever, runny nose, cough, sore/itchy throat ...or shortness of breath. Call your GP or the Public Health Hotline (1800 671 738) to request a COVID-19 test. You must have a referral to be tested. If there is no testing clinic in your local area, you can travel outside your municipality to have a test. After being tested, you must self-isolate at home until you receive your results.

19.01.2022 As you can imagine current times are creating some extra challenges for people in need, and the numbers are growing. The Salvation Army are working extra hard at the moment to provide as much relief as possible. With restriction on social interaction the Red Shield appeal won’t get in front of as many people this year to raise much need funds, so it is important to donate online. Follow the link below and please give generously. https://digitaldoorknock.salvationarmy.org.au/linda-and-ste

15.01.2022 Project Name: Kingborough Community Support (RACG) The Rotary Club of Kingston [RCK] and the Kingborough Corps of Salvation Army [Salvos] have agreed to work together to help, support and assist disadvantaged members of the local community, particularly those who have lost employment resulting from Covid 19 and with no access to government welfare. Having identified many families, this will be achieved by the provision of food hampers, direct financial counselling, and pro...vision of teams for house maintenance. In addition, support of local womens' refuge centres by way of clothing and personal items due to an increase in domestic violence, and direct care and support by RCK of individual Salvos, to allow them to continue their service to the disadvantage during this extraordinarily stressful period, will be part of this joint initiative. Tax Deductibility: Rotary Australia Benevolent Society (Managed by RAWCS) has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) registration and has been listed as a Charitable Fund so we can accept tax deductible donations from individuals or organisations. Please give generously. Clink link below to support Kingborough Community. Every dollar you gives is matched by a Rotary Australia Compassionate Grant. RCK has donated $5000. https://donations.rawcs.com.au/Default.aspx
14.01.2022 HAND UP 4 HELPING HANDS Helping others in our community for over a decade, Kingborough Helping Hands ( KHH) needs your HELPING HAND. COVID-19 has delt a bad hand for many in our community, so you can imagine the additional demand on services providers like KHH to support families affected by the current situation, and the number of families in need is growing.... The hand KHH has been delt is also a losing hand, because their annual fundraiser that raises $50,000 can’t go ahead. Kingston Rotary has found a way to help out by donating $5000, which will be matched by a another $5000 from a Rotary Australia Compassionate Grant. You can also provide a helping hand by contributing to these fundraising efforts, where every $1 donated will be matched $1 for $1 up-to $10,000. For all the details please read the attached media release, or click on the following link to donate now. https://donations.rawcs.com.au/Default.aspx Kingborough Helping Hands

04.01.2022 A few Kingston Rotarians headed down to Sandfly Memorial Oval this morning to fix up the damage cause by someone who decided to use it as a race track. 40mins work and we had all the turf folded back in and flattened out using a small concrete hand roller. A job well done, by Rodney, Alan, Heather and Marcel. We are sure the @LongleyBunyipsCricketClub will be happy with the result and the turf will recover much quicker.
