22.01.2022 New Security for Kyneton Scout Hall provided by The Rotary Club of Kyneton and The Rotary Foundation. 1st Kyneton Scouts has closed because of Covid-19. The District Leader (Tom Hickey) a very experienced and senior scout leader, and Cub Leader Corrinne Twoney spoke at a club meeting explaining their position and what they hoped to achieve. Several members of the club have attended/ had meetings with and consulted the scout leadership group. (PP J Condliffe, PP Martin Monk, R...tn Hartley Uebergang) During this time this group in liaison with the clubs board made a decision to help 1st Kyneton Scouts achieve sustainability, security and safety at their scout hall. The scout hall is situated at Franklin Place which faces onto the Campaspe river, there are issues with security and safety. The scout hall has suffered vandalism and break in theft in which they lost camping gear, personal equipment and other items. (Kyneton rotary has purchased two large tents for cub pack thus far) The river precinct location is ideal for outdoor activities but the isolation makes it vulnerable to break-ins. The project to install security grills and a security system will also be added. This grant application has seen the Scouts, Rotary and The Rotary Foundation working together for a great outcome for our community. Note: Group pictures taken before Covid-19...
