24.01.2022 Today, the Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains celebrate the convergence of good ideas, good people, and good work. And the result of this convergence is a stronger community, and a powerful model for progress that will inspire people all across Glenbrook and the Lower Blue Mountains. The opening today have been made possible by a series of partnerships partnerships that brought Rotarians, NSW Government - My Community Project, made possible by the NSW Generations Fund, Gov...ernment Officials, and civic leaders together to pursue a common goal. Thank you to District Governor David Clark, Past District Governor David Cook and his wife Carolyn, John Stalling, Past President’s Michelle Fisher and John Van Der Meer for supporting this project and what a wonderful acknowledgement as part of our Club’s 50th Anniversary year. Thank you to all our members for always getting behind our community projects, I am so proud of you all. Thank you to the Hon. Shayne Mallard, Federal Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman, Mark Greenhill OAM, Mayor for BMCC and Trish Doyle (Apologies). You have created a lasting legacy that will be the pride of this community and our state for decades to come.

19.01.2022 DECEMBER THEME: Disease Prevention & Treatment Our health is everything. Yet 400 million people in the world can’t afford or don’t have access to basic health care. We believe good health care is everyone’s right. The Rotary Foundation is changing the world by providing grants for projects and activities around the globe and in your own backyard.... Rotary makes amazing things happen, like: Providing clean water: Rotary has worked with partners to provide more than 80 percent of Ghana’s people with clean water to fight Guinea worm disease. Reducing HIV infection: In Liberia, Rotary members are helping women get tested for HIV early in their pregnancies. They used prenatal care to reduce new HIV infections in children by 95 percent over two years. Ending polio: Rotary members have played a key role in bringing the world to the brink of polio eradication. Their efforts have not only ended polio in 122 countries but also created a system for tackling myriad other health priorities, such as Ebola.
