25.01.2022 THE LOCAL SCENE #17 A male Australasian Darter has a well earned break from feeding its voracious chicks at the Braeside wetlands.

22.01.2022 CELEBRATING A LOT OF NOTHING!! Anyone that has not been through the gruelling 112 day lockdown would not understand why Melbournians are ecstatic at having four fat zeros over the past two days. The zeroes are of course new infections and deaths from Covid 19. After the mind numbing restrictions, combined with initial grim numbers of infections and mounting deaths it seemed almost impossible to be where we are now. Thank you fellow citizens for being strong, supporting each other and taming the Covid beast. We have booked our lunch tomorrow at Jiminy's in Parkdale because we enjoy the food. We want to thank Jim as he was there through the darkest days to serve a coffee and remind us of what normal could be. Celebrate Melbournians you bloody well deserve it!!!!!

21.01.2022 TOGETHER WE SAVE LIVES Rotary has partnered with the World Health Organisation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to eradicate polio around the world. The contributions of ordinary Rotarians to this fund are saving millions of children in developing countries from this horrible disease. You may consider yourself as ordinary, but with your fellow Rotarians you can do extraordinary things. Contact us to see how you can become an extraordinary part of our club. Contact Trina on 0403046449.

18.01.2022 If a couple of double donut days are good then how good are eight double donut days in a row. Makes a mockery of NSW being the "gold standard" when we are doing better than them. About time the "PM for Sydney" acknowledged our achievement and set Vic as the "PLATINUM STANDARD"

15.01.2022 IF YOU HAVE A SEWING MACHINE THEN WE NEED YOUR HELP! Mordialloc Rotary is making 231 toiletry kits for the students of the P-12 Lajamanu School located 965km NW of Alice Springs. These kits will enable the students to care for their eyes and faces and will reduce the risk of Trachoma. Trachoma is a debilitating eye disease that is entirely preventable by good hygiene. We need your help to sew up bags and add draw strings, like the one shown in the photo. We will provide the c...ut fabric and strings, all you need to do is the sewing and threading of the draw strings. If you can help please email Di at [email protected]. Eliminating Trachoma is a Rotary Australia project and forms part of the celebration of 100 years of Rotary in Australia. We want Trachoma to be eliminated as a cause of blindness in indigenous communities. Your help is appreciated. See more

03.01.2022 WELL DONE AUSTRALIANS WHO LIVE IN VICTORIA! Fourteen days without a sniff of Coronavirus and not a word of congratulations from the nay sayers who said that it could not be done. Enjoy the freedoms but let's remember that only a vaccine can wipe out Covid 19 as a threat to our society. It is nice to think that obesity from eating too many donuts may become a longer term threat to our health than Covid 19. Thank you to all the health workers and to Sexy Sutton and his team for keeping us safe and for guiding us through the biggest challenge in our life time.

03.01.2022 THE LOCAL SCENE #16 A male Australasian Darter feeds its young at the Braeside wetlands. The adults grow to a size of 90cm and the chicks test the theory that you must love your children. All this activity goes on as the extension to the Mornington Peninsula Freeway goes on 500 m away.

02.01.2022 Spooky ville is taking shape. Everyone get behind the Parkdale traders Halloween activity.
