20.01.2022 National NAIDOC Week 2020 Always Was, Always Will Be As National NAIDOC Week celebrations continue around the country, Rotary would like to commend a brilliant program called Sista Connections, developed by Hastings Secondary College.... Aimed at empowering and educating young Aboriginal women, the program offers academic support, leadership skills, entrepreneurship and employment while teaching the core values of respect, personal best and resilience. 18.01.2022 National Recycling Week 9 -15 November Let's all look towards reducing the amount of waste we dispose of in our garbage bins each year by learning what we can and cannot recycle As a club our Hundred Thousand Million Project is going gangbusters by reducing the amount of waste going into landfill while seeing dollars go back into supporting some tremendous organisations like Sailability NSW - Port Macquarie, Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse, Soldier On Austr...alia, Yp Space Mid North Coast and drought relief projects. 17.01.2022 Rotary Public Speaking Competition Last night it was a pleasure to have Jessica Helmers from Hastings Secondary College, Westport Campus attend and showcase her natural public speaking ability to our club. Jess will now represent Port West in the Rotary Cluster finals and let me assure you she's in it to win it after a stella performance at Panthers Port Macquarie. Certainly a bright future ahead for this talented, young lady.... We extend our gratitude to Executive Principal Ian Ross and Incoming District Governor David Mayne for also attending on the night. Congratulations Jess!
