21.01.2022 Our Community Chest Art Union raffle was drawn last night and the winning ticket for the Kia Seltos was Ticket No: 34584 held by R Ryan of Mt Low. Congratulations to Mr Ryan and also to E Ryan who has won the Sellers Prize of a HP Pro Notebook. The winning ticket was sold through Townsville Kennel Association. We take this opportunity again to sincerely thank the RSL Townsville and Pickering Auto Group for their generous support in making this year’s Art Union a great success. 07.01.2022 Ms Jillian Milton, Head of Curriculum at Oonoomba State School, received 52 books for their school library recently from us. Each book has a Rotary Club of Townsville label glued in signifying the visit to our club of a guest speaker. Oonoomba State School was chosen given the significant adversity they experienced in the flooding of February 2019.

07.01.2022 Today is the final day of Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) Program for 2019 To help keep our young drivers safe, we bring the RYDA program to Townsville each year and this year over 300 students from local schools took part over 3 days! Thanks to all of the volunteers who gave their time to help plan, organise and coordinate this important program to help keep our young people safe on the roads! ... We are grateful for the ongoing support of Graduate School of Motoring, Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service, Steve Richter and Dave Finlay. Special thanks also to Mike Carney Toyota for donating the use of a vehicle to demonstrate speed and stopping on the track RYDA is designed for 16-18 year old students who are approaching that crucial time in their lives where they start to drive independently or are travelling as passengers of novice drivers. 06.01.2022 Great opportunity to help kids in Timor Leste!

05.01.2022 Our club recently completed Project Anastasia whereby we were able to provide a new LDV vehicle to a local family in our community whose children suffer severe health issues. We wish to thank Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd (RAWCS) for co-funding this project and we sincerely thank Pickerings Auto Group Pty Ltd for heavily discounting the vehicle purchase and providing comprehensive insurance & future servicing, and Tropic Distributors for help with fuel cards.
