RYLA... A week long Leadership program... Have sponsored so many over the last 25+ years with our nominees for the NSW training Awards and our represention, serving on the local IVTC Committee, so hoping we can do something COVID compliant this year.



17.01.2022 Wollongong Botanical Gardens celebrated their 50th Anniversary. It was a great family fun day learning about the Power of Plants. Our club enjoyed cooking up a storm.

Gareth Ward, Member for Kiama, who spoke about his various Ministerial portfolios in the NSW Government...Families, Communities and Disability Services, Volunteering and Justice...thank you Gareth, we value all your staff, Government and you are doing in each of these portfolios especially for our young people and the focus on them and their needs...

17.01.2022 A few pictures of our members out and about this past week. We celebrated the Botanic Gardens Day with a traditinal Rotary BBQ in the Wollongong Botanic Garden and our fortnightly club meetings at Cafe Essay are back in full swing. Happy days!

13.01.2022 Staying in to stay safe Making home made tomato sauce Using large tin tomatoes2.5kg I was able to get a bag of over ripped tomatoes cheap price 2-3 kgs 4 carrots... 4 brown onions 3 zucchinis 2 med eggplants 5 -7 garlic gloves 3 -5 sticks of celery ( optional expensive at the moment) 4 -6 tablespoons Salt or to your taste 3-4 tablespoons Cracked pepper Hand full of parsley or basil or you can do both Method Sterilise glass jars first wash them then place in a big pot bring to boil 10-15mins then place on clean tea towel ( I have saved jam mayo etc jars) Chop all the vegetables 2-3 cms then add to a blender Blend as chunky or fine to what you like Then wash & chop fresh tomatoes Blend them to it becomes sloppy Then in a big pot, add the fresh tomatoes & tin tomatoes, all the blended veggies, salt & pepper Bring to boil for 15-20 mins then simmer for 50 -60mins stirring occasionally so its not sticking to the bottom Then funnel or spoon into jars to the top , put lids on tight Then turn up side down till they cool down or over night Then store in a cool place or cupboard ready to use through the shut down Bon appétit

10.01.2022 A very special meeting today, our first hybrid face to face and ZOOM at our home, Cafe Essay, thank you James and Phil, lovely to see each other, shared the latest, welcome Kathryn a visitor and keen to join us.. visit and presentation by our Assistant Governor, thank you Julie... Pres Peter keeping us all moving...next Wednesday, 5 to 7pm at our Mt Keir Summit Park fur our monthly working bee, all are welcome...dress appropriately to work...It is so beautiful at that time of the day, the kiosk will be open...looking forward to another busy year ahead...
