24.01.2022 Last weeks Cobram Rotary Club meeting saw John Parnell from the Katamatite Fire Brigade talk to the club about his Brigades involvement in the recent Bush fire crisis and the Brigades journey over the last twenty years. John also spoke of the heartbreak of coming into the Fire Station during the recent bush fire crisis to find the station had been broken into and much needed equipment stolen from the Fire engine. The Cobram Rotary club was proud to be able to donate $500 to the Katamatite Fire Brigade to assist with purchasing replacement equipment.

19.01.2022 Members, partners and friends of the Rotary Club of Cobram enjoyed their annual Christmas party at the lovely home and garden of Helen and James Cornish last night. 19.01.2022 About five years ago the Rotary Club of Cobram paid for surgery for a young girl named Rejoice to have a large tumour removed from her arm. Rejoice lives in an orphanage near Harare in Zimbabwe. The tumour was benign and the surgery was successful. Rejoice told Pastor Chris Nenga who runs the orphanage that she was so happy as the other children used to tease her about the tumour. Rejoice has now finished Primary School and will start High School in January. The Rotary Club of Cobram is paying for her registration, first term fees, her new uniform, new shoes and her books and stationery. We wish Rejoice well at her new school. Rejoice is pictured in her new school uniform and shoes with her books and stationery.

12.01.2022 An enjoyable night was has on Wednesday 27th November 2019 when nearly 40 members of both Cobram and Numurkah Rotary Clubs combined at Cactus Country, Strathmerton. The display of succulents must be one of the biggest in the southern hemisphere.

11.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Cobram is pleased that with the easing of COVID restrictions we have been able to increase our efforts doing what the Club does best - helping the community where we can. We had a great roll up of members, their partners and community volunteers (over a few working bees) to finalise the Club's Ottrey Homes' garden and landscaping project. The new aged care facility is now finished, lifting its capacity from 48 beds to 80. As of last week 65 were filled. Tracey Gemmill, Ottrey Homes' Chief Executive was extremely appreciative of the Club's work. She said it initially looked a pretty daunting task as a non for profit facility. Many thanks also to Vanessa Rankin for the many plants, Amaroo Soil and Gravel and Cobram Irrigation. Well done everyone.
