04.05.2022 It is a tragic and sad time for the people of Ukraine and the world. At #Rotary, we are deeply concerned by the deteriorating situation in Ukraine and the esca...lating loss of life and humanitarian hardship there. Continued military action against #Ukraine will not only devastate the region, but also risk spreading tragic consequences across Europe and the world. As one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations, we have made peace the cornerstone of our global mission. We join the international community in calling for an immediate cease fire, withdrawal of Russian forces, and a restoration of diplomatic efforts to resolve this conflict through dialogue. In the past decade, Rotary clubs in Ukraine, #Russia and nearby countries have transcended national differences and have actively engaged in peace-building projects to promote goodwill and to marshal assistance for the victims of war and violence. Today, our thoughts are with our fellow Rotary members and others in Ukraine coping with these tragic events. Rotary International will do everything in its power to bring aid, support and peace to the region.

AAIC aims to expose the drug Ice for what it really is, an insidiously poisonous chemical concoction that eventually, and often rapidly, destroys the physical and mental health of almost everyone who uses it, with the destruction of families and friendships, and often suicide, as the ultimate outcome. This seven and a half minute television interview provides a concise summary of AAIC Founder and Chief Executive Andre’a Simmons story - why AAIC was formed and what we aim to achieve. https://youtu.be/YdWPNeBNfko

05.01.2022 One of the charities we have been honoured to support in the past year is the Jack Beasley Foundation. Very happy to see that Brett Beasley and Belinda Beasley and Qld Police delivered the first of hopefully many educational sessions in high schools about the devastation that knife crime causes. In a massive 12 months the foundation set up in Jack’s name have been catalysts for giving police the ability (on a trial) to use a wand to check youths for weapons in and around the GC night precinct for the protection of all of us, especially our kids. Jump onto their FB page and sign their petition to make the trial a permanent change for QPOL. Congratulations to all of the Jack Beasley Foundation members
