24.01.2022 Rotary Club of Denman, Received a donation from Mangoola Mine Workforce today from Casey Wallace representing their very generous contribution of $4,000.00 to be distributed to some identified as in need during this Covid 19 pandemic. After consideration of various ideas, Denman Rotary decided it would be best utilized by our 4 local schools, Denman Public, St. Joseph’s Denman, Martindale Public & Sandy Hollow Public to assist pupils in situations where electronic devices wer...e not available to some at home for at home education from their respective schools. To make this money go further, our Club decided to add a further $6,000.00 to the amount to make our joint effort $10,000 with the amount divided equally between the 4 schools. All the schools have been made aware that this support is a direct response to the workforce at Mangoola Mine offering community assistance at this difficult time and all Principals have been extremely appreciative of the support as no doubt are a number of parents. 21.01.2022 Our weekly meeting on 27th March was hosted by Denman Mens Shed. A small team of their members put on a very nice BBQ dinner. After our meal we enjoyed a talk about the history thus far for the group and their ambitions in to the future. Our members then spent considerable time looking through the museum collection. 17.01.2022 Our club spent a few hours BBQ'ing for Mangoola Mine's employees and families day on Saturday last. Members were kept on their toes with people coming in small waves but all went smoothly. The club was paid for their work by the mine and we thank them for offering us the work which was a pleasure to provide. Whilst at times it might seem that BBQ's are all we do nothing is farther from the truth. Of course when we raise money, it is not for the club but ultimately for many various local and other worthwhile fundraising causes.

06.01.2022 Tonight it was some degree of sadness that our club presented a small appreciation plaque and flowers to Ben and Wendy of the Chinese Restaurant at Denman RSL who are ceasing operation of the restaurant on the 28th July. They have been catering for Denman Rotary Club for their weekly dinner meetings for over 30 years! We all wish them well for their future. Our remaining Charter Member Robert Lewis presented Ben with the plaque and long standing member Brian Johnson presented Wendy with the floral arrangement.

Much appreciated by the members. Of course, ultimately, all funds raised by various means go back to our local and wider community.
