19.01.2022 What better role than being a Rotary District Governor and travelling round all the Rotarians in the district and seeing them at home, in their communities and ...all the wonderful things they do to support those less fortunate, those who have lost everything in the droughts and bushfires. Just because these were last year, people are still trying to get some normality in their lives. Thanks to all the clubs out there, still at the coalface of making the world a better place. 14.01.2022 It's Reconnect Week! This is an internationally celebrated time on the Rotary calendar dedicated to renew and build relationships with past Rotary program parti...cipants and Rotarians. Including alumni in your membership strategies is key, as alumni are already aware of Rotary, the good it does in the world and the personal/professional benefits. Past program participants can refresh their ties by visiting club meetings, helping with projects, and engaging online. By doing so, they can experience again how Rotary reshapes lives locally and globally. What are you doing? We would love to hear! Some examples include: * D9455 (Western Australia) establishing a 'Rotex' chapter for past Rotary Youth Exchange participants - Rotex is considered an alumni association that can be recongised officially by RI * Rotary Club of Nepean. Penrith NSW Australia. in D9685 (Sydney) inviting one of their RYLA participants to come back to their club as a guest speaker * Rotary Club of Whangarei South Inc in D9910 (New Zealand) are organising a 'Reconnect Dinner' Check out the Reconnect Week site for ideas about what you can do and to download graphics that you can use in your Facebook, webiste and newsletters etc. Remember to tag anything you are doing with: #rotaryreconnect https://xd.wayin.com//abedd456-7df4-4aac-85f3-2416/details

14.01.2022 Do You Know About BackTracks The program BackTracks is targeted to reconnect young people with education and training options which opens the door to s...ecure meaningful employment. Most importantly they get young people ‘back on track’ by developing strong, happy & healthy foundations that result in positive life pathways and full participation in their communities. Recently our club donated $2,000 of seed funding for a special RYLA BackTracks fund which will go towards sponsorship of candidates. We thank Jess Lloyd and Erika Savage from the soon to be established District 9650 Young Leaders E Club for supporting this outstanding project. 11.01.2022 Right now, our changing climate is creating an unprecedented need for emergency shelter around the world. Our storms are getting stronger, creating cyclones... and hurricanes that rip up homes. Global temperatures are increasing, leading to devastating droughts that destroy food supplies. Sea levels are rising, resulting in floods that wash away lives. This isn’t a future problem: it’s happening now. Learn more https://bit.ly/2SNwsKV

08.01.2022 We had two very interesting speakers at Rotary last night, Bec Banks (left) who returned to RYLA in August (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) as a staff leader ...and Jasmin Daemon (right) as a participant. Both indicated that it had been a life changing experience giving them confidence, skills, and friends that would last a lifetime. So glad our club sponsored them! See more

06.01.2022 1st 8th May 2021 Lake Keepit Sport & Recreation 2021 Application forms now on D9650 Webpage Leader 2021... LUKE MASSEY 2020 Sponsor RC Tamworth First Light I came to RYLA an unmotivated, lost, and directionless 26-year-old and left with a new lust for life and a new motivation to succeed. The course gave me the tools to bridge the gap between finishing postgraduate university and successfully building a life for myself outside of the safety net of tertiary education. Luke is looking forward to sharing some life experience with the younger attendees & rates peer guidance as one of the most important aspects of the week along with supportive open communication.

04.01.2022 Youth Exchange students often say their experience abroad was the best time of their lives. Being part of the program can be life-changing for Rotary members as well. https://on.rotary.org/3jrD36l

03.01.2022 What do cows, chickens, coral, coffee and cluster crews have in common? Well, apart from the obvious, they are all helping communities create sustainable, commu...nity-led solutions to social disparities and linking residents to opportunities that positively impact the broader community. Community it’s just what we do. And surprisingly also starts with ‘c’! Check out how Rotary in Australia, NZ and the Pacific has been helping communities in need in the October edition of Rotary Down Under. In inboxes and in transit now!
