24.01.2022 It was a hot one 38 in the shade it did not deter our stalwart golfers. Thank you Roger from Rotary Health great game and at least we got a golf ball each. Thank you again to our Hole Sponsors -Jurdy’s Pest Control, Shaun’s Pest Control, McDonalds GATTON Davaar Consultancy and for prize packages Bendigo Bank Laidley. We had a great selection of prizes for our 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners, the longest drive and closest to the hole. 21.01.2022 A great club zoom meeting yesterday where we had amazing presentation from Christian Mtesigwa, a teacher from Mondo Secondary School, Chemba district, Tanzania. Mondo is one of two schools benefited from our Teacher in a Box donation last year and Christian shared the benefits that TIB is having for both teachers and students. It is great to be able to connect internationally during this difficult time. Small club, big hearts!

14.01.2022 We are very excited to have awarded a District grant for the year 2020-21. The grant is to implement a literacy project in Tanzania. This will scale the "Teacher in a Box" project that we started last year. Teacher in a Box is a huge interactive library of community and academic resources that can be accessed without internet. In many rural villages in developing countries there is no internet and even in places where there is internet, the cost limits people’s use. Teacher... in a Box has a huge positive impact where there are limited teaching resources or teachers. Teacher in a Box servers support self-paced learning as well as classroom teaching. After two secondary schools in Dodoma region benefited from our donation of Teacher in a Box Laptops last year and expressed their benefits to their schools, we applied for the District grant so we can provide more TIBs to more schools in Tanzania. Our most gratitude to the Rotary District 9630 and the Rotary Foundation for this grant, we will do a great job with the grant. Photos shows handing over of TIB laptops at the two schools in Dodoma last year.
