24.01.2022 The club marked Remembrance Day 2020 with a very special guest speaker at its club meeting on November 10th, Dean Lee, CEO of the Shrine of Remembrance. The club also welcomed as a meeting guest Dr. Robert Rob Webster OAM, Victorian State President of the RSL.
23.01.2022 The project to convert an existing community hall in Sarsfield Victoria into a bushfire evacuation centre has received approval for Global Grant funding from the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Club of Glenferrie has joined with the Rotary clubs of Brighton North, Traralgon and Taipei Tungteh in Taiwan, Rotary District 9800 and Rotary District 3522 Taiwan in funding the project, which will be led by the Rotary Club of Traralgon as a response to the devastation suffered by Sarsfield in the 2019-2020 summer bushfires. The project will have a total budget of $130,000.

21.01.2022 Spring was definitely in the air at the Boroondara Farmers Market last Saturday, November 21st, as sunshine and a sense of returning normality encouraged crowds to Patterson Reserve, Hawthorn. Patrons commented very favourably on the new seating arrangements under the trees, allowing a cup of coffee and a chat in a friendly fairground atmosphere. The Rotary Christmas Cakes and Puddings Stall was hugely popular, with substantial funds raised for The Rotary Foundation.

14.01.2022 November 11th - Armistice Day - Lest We Forget A local man, a resident of Camberwell, Victoria, was a huge contributor to the success of the AIF's campaigns on the Western Front in 1918. Major General Harold Edward Elliott, CB, CMG, DSO, DCM, VD. known to his men as 'Pompey' Elliott. Elliott's leadership of the 15th Brigade, AIF, transformed a near-defeat at Villers-Bretonneux into a victory, changing the course of the war and hastening its end.

The Christmas goodies will be available at a special Rotary table set up at the market at Patterson Reserve Hawthorn East next Saturday November 19th, so look out for the famous Rotary wheel as you cruise the market. Last years goodies sold out completely so do be quick to avoid disappointment!
