25.01.2022 Hey market fans, don't forget that this Sunday is our Magill Sunrise Mad March Market 2020 at Campbelltown Memorial Oval. Our new venue has been a massive success, but we're always looking at ways we can improve. One change we're making from this weekend is that closing time will be 2pm instead of 3pm. The last hour attracts very few people, so this change makes it easier for stallholders. By the way, there are still plenty of indoor and outdoor stalls available this week - l...ong weekends are a great time for markets, but sometimes tricky for stallholders. Thinking of running your own stall? ACT NOW! Please follow the link below and get into it! There are also rumours that steak sandwiches could be joining our legendary sausages, zucchini fritters and bacon & egg sandwiches, but you'll just have to come along to find out :) See you there! http://www.magillrotary.org.au/magill-rotary-market/ See more

25.01.2022 It's with sadness that we announce the postponement of this event. Unfortunately there was not quite enough support to make the event viable. The problem with Youth Homelessness is a serious one and Magill Sunrise Rotary are committed to assisting groups like HYPA to make a real difference. We'd particularly like to acknowledge the incredible sponsorship support of Paradise Mazda who pledged $1600 in cold hard cash as a start to our fundraising. What an amazing contribution...! We also had awesome support from Rock Ya Pain and Norwood Foodland that we wish to acknowledge. It would be an insult to incredible support like that if we couldn't raise at least as much as the sponsorship monies on the night through participation, which is why we decided to postpone. It's possible that timing and other factors were against us, so we'll be having a look at that when setting a future date. Don't worry, we'll be back! Sincere thanks to everyone who committed and please stay tuned here for further announcements.

24.01.2022 OK market fans, here we go again this Sunday at Campbelltown Memorial Oval. Apart from all of the amazing stalls of the market - by the way, pretty much the only monthly market in the whole of eastern Adelaide and now 12 years strong - we will also be joined for the second time by Campbelltown Repair Cafe back at CMO on Nov 8th. That's right, the amazing crew of the Repair Cafe are getting up to speed fast. Don't know what a Repair Cafe is? Come along and find out! PS: don't forget our mega 2 day Christmas market coming up on 12th & 13th of December. Tell all of your friends and we'll see you there!

24.01.2022 Great initiative here from our colleagues at Rotary Club of Morialta. Enjoy the magnificent surrounds of Thorndon Park while supporting a very important and urgent cause. Don't forget that all proceeds from this Sunday's Magill Sunrise Market will also be donated to bushfire relief.

24.01.2022 We're having a great night with our friendly neighbouring clubs including Rotary Club of Campbelltown, Rotary Club of Morialta and Norwood Rotary Club down at San Giorgio Club, Payneham.

23.01.2022 A couple more photos of our first of many meetings at the Campbelltown Memorial Oval (Meeting 1100).

22.01.2022 Very important announcement here. As soon as we're over this we assure you the Magill Sunrise Market will be back bigger and better than ever!

21.01.2022 Did you know? Our very good friends at Rotary Club of Campbelltown run an amazing shed sale every month in Newton. An amazing array of goods are up for sale that must be seen to be believed - there is literally something there for everyone! Well worth checking out.

20.01.2022 Yes folks, we're back! This Sunday Magill Sunrise Market returns 9am-2pm at Campbelltown Memorial Oval. A huge array of indoor and outdoor stalls with something for everyone. And we just know how many of you have been hanging out for the return of Robyn's famous zucchini fritters - yummo! Come on down and we'll see you there.

20.01.2022 Great story on the amazing history of the Thorndon Park Kiosk by our good friends and Rotary Club of Morialta. They do such a great job through good times and bad down there. Next time you're at the park drop by and say g'day. All proceeds go to the good works of Rotary and support of many charities.

20.01.2022 What a huge year it's been for Magill Sunrise Rotary. Early this year the club was on the brink of folding and then we had three Magill Sunrise Markets in a row cancelled due to bad weather, but a renewed energy got us back on track and we now have a very bright future. We had another superb Reel Event in May this year and are planning next year's 9th event to be bigger and better than ever. Our new Magill Sunrise Market at Campbelltown Memorial Oval has started and was a hu...ge hit (next market Sunday 12th Jan - put it in your diary!). We just had our AGM and club leadership was locked away for the next two years with plenty of willing hands in the air. I guess that sometimes a bit of turmoil helps you recognise just how important the things you do are and help you get that focus back again. On that very bright note we wish everyone a Joyous and Happy Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year for 2020. And don't be shy - come and have brekkie with us one morning!

20.01.2022 A stunningly beautiful morning today for our meeting!

19.01.2022 The Magill Sunrise Market is about to kick off including the Campbelltown Repair Cafe back at CMO on Nov 8th. Lots of awesome goods and stalls this month. Open untill 2. Be here!

18.01.2022 Huge announcement by the club - come along this Sunday at the new Magill Sunrise Market venue Campbelltown Memorial Oval and you'll be supporting the bushfire victims in the best way possible. Stalls still available too - remember both indoor and outdoor now. Weather forecast looks perfect. See you there!

17.01.2022 Just letting you know that all Rotary Club of Magill Sunrise meetings and events are on hold for now. We're looking at ways we can meet using the Internet, which may also allow us to have visitors. We'll keep you posted on that one and we'd love to have cyber visitors if we make that happen. If you're interested in the Magill Sunrise Market then please like and follow that page to keep up with what's happening. Stallholders are encouraged to register for future markets and th...ere's no issue if the market doesn't go ahead. We'd be grateful as it helps us with planning to make sure the market comes back with a huge bang! If you've never run a market stall before you should use this time to plan one and give it a go. Why not? Our market is the perfect place for stall newbies. Meantime please stay safe and we'll hopefully see you all fit and healthy again very soon. See more

16.01.2022 If youre fascinated by the world of science and its possibilities (and currently in Year 11) - look at NYSF. Message us or email [email protected] for more details

15.01.2022 All set to help out Hectorville Sports and Community Club Inc this morning at Campbelltown Memorial Oval

15.01.2022 Final reminder Zucchini Fritter lovers that the Magill Sunrise Market is back this Sunday for the second time since lockdown. As a special treat the brand new Trial Repair Cafe Campbelltown (SA) will be happening in conjunction with the market. Don't throw out that broken/torn/worn thing you love - repair it instead! Come and check it out. Oh, don't forget our free online The Ultimate 1980s Quiz Night event coming up next Saturday too - register now!

14.01.2022 A very foggy start to our meeting this morning at Campbelltown Memorial Oval. Nonetheless a great meeting, where we celebrated a little of Bastille Day by playing La Marseillaise to open the meeting and reminisced on some of our favourite parts of French culture, then we heard from a great guest speaker on reverse mortgages - fascinating. Yes, we're back and having a great time at the club. Why not come and join us one morning?

13.01.2022 At Rotary we try to make our world a better place in many different ways. One thing we did recently was to support Able Australia's Deafblind Camp. This short video reminds us that life as we know it can be turned upside down at any moment. If that happens the difference an organisation like Able Australia can make is clearly evident. We were lucky a few months ago that the lock down allowed us to hear from Alisha and her colleagues through our video conference meetings. This amazing short video gives you a similar chance to hear about the superb work they do. Our Rotary theme this year is "Rotary Opens Opportunities" and supporting groups like this is just one way we live that theme.

13.01.2022 We welcome the amazing crew from Repair Cafe Campbelltown - SA to the Magill Sunrise September 2020 Market. Come down and check it out!

12.01.2022 Don't forget the amazing, awesome, unique and ONLY regular monthly market in the east happening again this Sunday (YAY!!!). Make sure to like the Magill Sunrise Market page where you can find out the latest stall details, like the ones in this post. A little birdy told me that we're currently up around 30 stalls and growing, including at least 4 food stalls. That means there will be something for everyone! The weather forecast is perfect and our new location at Campbelltown Memorial Oval is simply perfect. It's gonna be huge (again). Be there!

12.01.2022 We're sure that everyone has been touched in some way by the terrible disaster in Beirut. The details below outline a bit more of just how devastating it has been to the whole country of Lebanon. In that light, our club executive met this evening and will now pledge $2,000 towards this appeal. That has largely been made possible through our recent support of the Hectorville Sports and Community Club Inc cooking BBQs for them while they've been away from their usual home at Da...ly Oval. If you would like to support this appeal personally then you can do so through RAWCS at the link below, which is one of the charitable arms of Rotary and allows tax deductible donations. You can be very sure that Rotarians on the ground in Beirut are working very hard to support the victims and will make sure all funds are used in the most effective ways possible. See more

10.01.2022 One of the great traditions of Rotary is that every year the leadership changes, so we get together on a beautiful day such as today to celebrate a great year gone by and get ready for the new year. Outgoing President Greg Scheutze had to deal with a very difficult last 3-4 months in particular, but also oversaw some great moments, such as changing the Magill Sunrise Market to the Campbelltown Memorial Oval. Incoming President Mark Thompson painted a great vision of the coming year and the club is in great hands.

09.01.2022 Yep, we're back again in just over a week and a half. Plenty of stalls already booked, but more available. Share and come along to support the only regular local market in the Campbelltown area. And also, help Rotary rid Polio from the world!

09.01.2022 A big month for the club! The Magill Sunrise Market is coming up Sunday week, our awesome online The Ultimate 1980s Quiz Night on the 19th and we're still supporting Hectorville Sports and Community Club Inc for the next few Sundays. We may be small, but our impact is huge. Thanks everyone who supports our work - that's what makes it worthwhile!

09.01.2022 With great sadness we announce the very diificult decision to cancel The Reel Event for 2020. The continuing uncertainty over access to theatres and allowable crowd sizes left us little alternative having already postponed from earlier this year. Don't worry though - the 2021 event is already in planning and we expect the 9th event will be bigger and better than ever. We're also working on another great fundraising event targeted at September and our amazing Magill Sunrise Market will also be returning very soon. Watch this space for details!

08.01.2022 Woo hoo! First market day of the new decade. All proceeds to bushfire relief. Come on down!

08.01.2022 We're having a great first video conference meeting for the club tonight. Thanks everyone for taking part!

07.01.2022 Joined in with Rotary Club of Campbelltown's meeting this evening with 81 people - amazing! Awesome presentation by Jessie Harman beaming in from Victoria to talk about Rotary membership. Jessie is a member of Rotary Club - Wendouree Breakfast and is a Rotary International Director. These e-meetings are certainly opening up a lot of opportunities and new ways of communicating for Rotary! (acknowledgement to Jessie and Rotary for the content of these screen shots)

07.01.2022 We had another great day out at the Campbelltown Memorial Oval supporting the Hectorville Sports and Community Club Inc junior footballers with a bit of well needed sustenance. We'll be there every Sunday until mid-September and for fans of the Magill Sunrise Market you'd better note that Robyn's famous Zucchini Fritters are available. We're not only helping out Heccies but making up some of the lost ground over the past few months for our club fundraising efforts, which is great. Drop by and see us one Sunday!

07.01.2022 Don't forget - the Magill Sunrise Mad March Market 2020 this Sunday. Great stalls now starting to stack up, but there's still time for more!

06.01.2022 Things are looking up for our massive 2 day Mega Christmas Magill Sunrise Market to go ahead in just under 3 weeks. Put it in your diary and make sure you get down for a huge range of fantastic goods. As always, our Covid Marshalls and the way we set the market up will make sure things are as safe as possible. We'll see you there!

06.01.2022 Good morning sunshine! We're about to kick off meeting 1100 at our new temporary lodgings down at Campbelltown Memorial Oval. If you catch the O-Bahn to work then our meetings here would be perfect for you.

05.01.2022 Whilst we mourn the death of Australias Dr Catherine Hamlin AC, we recall the remarkable work she undertook in Ethiopia. We also are reminded of the wonderful opportunity that gave Magill Sunrise Rotary to contribute to the work of the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation. Our President Sue McKay had visited the hospital and worked with Dr Hamlin and was inspired to do more.... A number of fundraising events enabled our Rotary Club to sponsor midwife training programs in Addis Ababa for 3 years. Our biggest event was a 'Taste of Africa dinner with lots of colour, dress-ups, a quiz, auctions, loads of fun, support from the Campbelltown City Council (SA) and local African community - and great African food. Vale Dr Catherine Hamlin

04.01.2022 Something very different for breakfast this morning due to the women's T20 World Cup using our normal venue. Thanks The Red Mill Bakehouse Hectorville for hosting us with a delicious breakfast, awesome coffee and great fellowship among our members.

03.01.2022 Lots of great action down here at Magill Sunrise Market. Sadly zucchini fritters are all done, but heaps of other amazing stuff. Open until 2 - come on down!

03.01.2022 Ever wondered what we do over breakfast, and what other things we do together? After most meetings we publish a great club bulletin capturing the moment and outlining what's happening. Worth a read for members and non-members alike!

02.01.2022 Our The Ultimate 1980s Quiz Night event just keeps getting better - check it out and sign up now!

01.01.2022 Woo hoo! We've got the green light on our huge return Magill Sunrise Market in August. We've been missing everyone and hope to see you all come down to join us. ***EXTRA SPECIAL*** for all stallholders we are offering a flat $20 fee for all indoor and outdoor stalls for the August market. Make sure you head to our market web page where you can complete an online application form. Get in quick; it's gonna be HUGE! http://www.magillrotary.org.au/magill-rotary-market/

01.01.2022 We have a real treat coming up at our online meeting Tuesday evening, 5.30pm. Apart from our usual good humoured Rotary banter, former member Kirsty, who was a co-producer of the outstanding ABC docudrama 'Stateless', will be joining us and talking about her role in that production via a Q&A session. Everyone is welcome to join our meeting with details at this link: http://www.magillrotary.org.au/meetings-go-cyber/ (photo courtesy of ABC)
