25.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who attended the Castle Hills players last night. We were at the Pavilion Theatre where were treated to the story of Dr Jeckyle and Mr Hyde. I think it was fright night. Well done Castle Hill players. Thank you to the performers for a job well done. Before the show a presentation was made to Janelle Dodd who runs Days for Girls Ryde Division. This cheque will make it possible for young girls in third world countries to continue to be educated. With the aid of hygiene products these girls are able to stay in school and not be ostracised from the community. Thank you again for your donations. Mervyn Tilden.

25.01.2022 Greetings friends and neighbours from North Rocks and Carlingford. The members of the Rotary Club of North Rocks would like to send a huge shout out and thank you to all the health care workers and those of the emergency services for your dedication and hard work during these tough times and their continued work in the coming months. This has not been easy for anyone and we ask you all to continue social distancing and safe practices for the months ahead. Even though life seems a little easier we still have take it one day at a time so please take care. Once again thank you to all our neighbourhood families for your help and co-operation. Mervyn Tilden The Rotary Club of North Rocks. President.

25.01.2022 Greetings North Rocks and Carlingford families . Yes folks once again our very own Vi Nutt has tasked herself with knitting rugs. Since the original lock down she has devoted her time and energy into making these wonderful rugs to be given to an organisation called Wrapped With Love. She has kept herself busy and her fingers nimble by knitting and sewing metres and metres of wool and producing these wonderful rugs. As you all know Vi is a hard working member of the North... Rocks/ Carlingford community as well as being a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of North Rocks. Yes Vi you are a STAR. Better than that you are a ROCKSTAR. You are an inspiration to us all with your dedication to the community. Thank you for your hard work. If anyone has some wool laying around ( preferably 8 ply) and you dont want it, we can put it to good use for you. It will help to keep a cold little one warm. Thank you. Mervyn Tilden. (PP). 23.01.2022 Greetings Carlingford and North Rocks neighbours. Just a quick note from the Rotary Club of North Rocks. We are going through a very unusual time together and we hope you are all safe and well away from this virus that is doing so much damage to our world let alone our country. The Rotary Club of North Rocks would like to wish you all a happy Easter next weekend. Dont forget the slogan We are all in this together. Keep well keep safe and wash your hands. 22.01.2022 Greetings Mums, Grandmums and Great Grandmums of North Rocks and Carlingford. The Rotary Club of North Rocks hope that you all had a wonderful day yesterday celebrating a different Noahs Ark Mothers Day. We were allowed to visit our mums 2 x 2. A bit different this year but seeing our mums was great. Although it was limited visiting it put a lot of minds at ease to be able to actually see our mums and have a cuppa, a piece of cake and a more personal catch up. Even though ...our current liberties may be eased we ask you to stick with the distancing rules and any other requests that may be asked of us. This virus is not going away. It will be dormant for a while but can rise like beast it has been. Please take care, enjoy our new bit of freedom when it comes and look out for family and friends. We will get together again one day. Kind Regards from us all at The Rotary Club of North Rocks. Mervyn Tilden President. See more

19.01.2022 Congratulations to the the City of Parramatta Council for their excellent COVID-safe opening of the updated John Wearne Reserve. What a great community facility!!! The Rotary Club of North Rocks was very pleased to collaborate with Council to assist in the success of this event.

17.01.2022 Greetings friends and neighbours of North Rocks and Carlingford. An interesting year ahead is awaiting the members of the Rotary Club of North Rocks and all our Rotary colleagues. Firstly I would like to congratulate Fay Kitto and David Faulkner-Dick as they take on joint Presidency of North Rocks Rotary Club. Our members are more than a club or team, we are almost a family of hard working like minded folk. We pick our causes carefully and work together to achieve our goals. ...Sadly with COVID 19 on top of us our goals are much harder to achieve but we will try nevertheless. Our Christmas celebrations are of major concern for us. Yes at this stage our Carols by Twilight are still on. We are starting to plan for this event now. There are no guarantees with our Christmas events but if we dont start planning it wont happen. We must work to government rulings with social distancing and the like to make our events work. Our Santa Sleigh run is another event on Christmas Eve that we have to work on. Once again it will probably depend on social distancing also. Our intention is to bring Santa to the crowds again but this will be a government ruling as well. Fingers crossed. If any of our followers out there can advise us we are listening. Finally I would like to thank the members of North Rocks Rotary Club and the community of North Rocks and Carlingford for your help and support that you have given me as President of our Club. I have grown personally with the experience of being a leader in the community. My best wishes to all, stay well and stay safe. Mervyn Tilden (Past President) The Rotary Club of North Rocks . 17.01.2022 Our sympathies go out to the brave RFS family with the sudden loss of a crew of three from America when the fire bomber they were in crashed while fighting fires south of Canberra. Fire fighters have come to Australia from other countries to help us with these savage fires. These are very brave men and women. Our thanks go out to all those who put their lives on the line to help save our homes and land from these ferocious fires. Sadly RIP to those who have made the sacrifice... with their lives. What can you say except, Thank you for your services The Rotary Club of North Rocks. Mervyn Tilden (President). See more

17.01.2022 East run last call will be North Pole . Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

16.01.2022 From the Rotary Club of North Rocks, a huge thank you to all the services for your hard work with the fires . You beat the beast and are helping in the recovery. You are all heroes.

15.01.2022 Celebrate Australia Day with an Australian movie at the newly renovated John Wearn Reserve.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to joint Presidents Fay Kitto and David Faulkner-Dick who will lead our band of merry folk from Rotary Club of North Rocks. Fay Kitto is receiving the Presidents lapel pin. Good luck for 2020-21. Mervyn Tilden Past President Rotary Club of North Rocks.

14.01.2022 Sadly we are unable to hold this event this year, due to COVID restrictions.

12.01.2022 Greetings North Rocks and Carlingford families. A pleasant afternoon tea was enjoyed with Martha Jabour representing Graces Place, Fay Kitto and myself Mervyn Tilden from Rotary Club of North Rocks. We presented a late cheque to Martha from Graces Place. The money was earned from wrapping Christmas presents last year. Unfortunately owing to Covid-19 our presentation was somewhat late. However as they say better late than never. Graces Place is a new organisation giving children whose families are caught up in major crime some respite away from their everyday living. A worthy charity helping children from our communities. Mervyn Tilden. Rotary Club of North Rocks.

12.01.2022 Thank you again from us all at the Rotary Club of North Rocks for your attendance and participation in our Australia Day Flag Raising ceremony yesterday. It was followed by a bbq breakfast. Thank you for your kind donations they will be going towards helping the fire appeal. Councillor Andrew Jefferies spoke on behalf of Parramatta City Council. The North Rocks Scouts were there to raise the flag. After a few speeches breakfast was served. What a great morning we had. We fought the humidity and won. A great time was had by all. Thank you once for your generosity. Mervyn Tilden The Rotary Club of North Rocks.

11.01.2022 Easter greetings to all our friends and neighbours in North Rocks and Carlingford. We hope you all have a happy Easter weekend with homes full of wonderful Easter treats and treasures. 11.01.2022 Greetings friends and neighbours of North Rocks and Carlingford owing to the current health conditions concerning the corona virus the Rotary Club of North Rocks has suspended our meetings for a period of six weeks. This will bring us together again on Monday the 4th May when we can look at the situation again and make a further judgement on how our community is going. All being well we will be back at the Baulkham Hills Sports Club on the above date 6.16 for 6.45pm. Thank ...you for your support. Best regards Mervyn Tilden President The Rotary Club of North Rocks. 11.01.2022 Greetings friends and neighbours of North Rocks and Carlingford. Thank you for staying in doors over this crazy and confusing time. Just a note to let you know that the members of the Rotary Club of North Rocks are still actively working in the community. Sadly it is a slow effort from inside but one day we will be back up to full speed. We hope that you are all keeping well and doing the 20 second washy washy hand dance every so often. Yes by the time this is all over we wil...l have hands that look like chickens feet. We all know that we are in difficult times but like the fires we will kill the beast and be able come out and play once again. It just might take a little longer. If we can all be patient and do as required we will emerge from this stronger and wiser. Dont forget Anzac Day is this Saturday 25th April will be different thanks to the virus. We are inviting you all to stand in your driveway at 5.55am as a mark of respect for our fallen soldiers. Just stand with your neighbours for about 10mins for the time it would take for the Ode and the Last Post to be played and think about the sacrifices that have been made for us. All you will need will a candle or torch and your thoughts.(a flag if you have one). We continue to wish you well and stay safe. Kind Regards The Rotary Club of North Rocks. Mervyn Tilden President. 03.01.2022 Rotary member Vi has been working at home along with the rest of the workforce. She is still helping those who need and extra hand. Vi is a beautiful knitter and delivered all these rugs to me last week, to send off to Wrap with Love. They are well made with lots of bright colours, and will appeal to children who need an extra wrap on the bed, or around their shoulders. The package also included beanies and socks for children. Many thanks to those people who donated wool t...o Vi - she is making excellent use of the wool. Thanks go in particular to Bob O'Shea, President, Rotary Club of Carlingford who delivered a big bag of wool to Vi, with more to come. Vi has the skills to turn scraps into a beautiful and useful product, while she works from home.
