13.01.2022 Joining a Rotary Club says a lot about who you are. Rotarians are people of action. We are people who see a need or an injustice and cannot close our eyes or tu...rn our gaze. Being a Rotarian means standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves, including our own planet. We are committed to positive and lasting change in our local and global communities. Joining a Rotary Club says a lot about who you are, because joining a Rotary Club tells the world you are here for a purpose. You are here to help others and take action. You are here for change!

13.01.2022 Lots of positive news on the Rotary front. Looking forward to more good deeds from Rotary International.

06.01.2022 It wasn’t an easy start to life for young Mori woman Kriddles Roberts. Born into gang life, she experienced homelessness as a teenager on the streets of Sydney.... However, by the time she was appointed the youngest ever president of Waitakere Rotary (@www.rotarywaitakere.org.nz), Rotary District 9910, in July, Kriddles already had an established reach within the local community through her own charity, Unity In Our Community. Drawing on her passion for helping those in need, Kriddles is bringing together the two community-focused organisations for the benefit of the local people. As well as helping dozens of families in need with regular deliveries of food packs and clothing, UIOC holds free community events each year that showcase local artists, provide community services and education, and necessities to help those in need. 01.01.2022 We held a Soup Night last Saturday evening to raise money for 2 Homeless projects that our club is supporting. Around 60 people joined us for a wholesome bowl of soup, crusty bread rolls and a glass of wine, a beer or a soft drink and helped us raise $2,500. The funds will be split between: - the Perth Homeless Support Group which provides food and other supplies to homeless people around the city; and - Rotary Supporting 'My Home' which is working with Michelle Blakeley's 'M...y Home' project, the State Government and local corporations to build permanent housing for homeless people around the State. Rotary has undertaken to provide the furnishings for the houses the first batch of which will be built over coming months. We also took the opportunity its to award Narelle Findley and DJ Des Certificates of Appreciation to thank them for organising and running the Bohemian Rhapsody event last October.

01.01.2022 Rotary in WA is supporting Michelle Blakeley and 'My Home' Australasia Limited, charity setup to arrange permanent housing for homeless people in WA. 'My Home' is working with the West Australian government, St Patricks, corporate sponsors and Rotary to build small houses in a number of locations around WA with the first project to be 18 houses in East Fremantle for homeless women over 55 years. Rotary has undertaken to fund the purchase of furniture and utensils for the houses which should be ready for occupation in early 2021.
