24.01.2022 For those who gave and those who give we remember

24.01.2022 ANZAC Day 2020. In these troubling times may we take a moment to honour our brave men and women who have fought and died for us. LEST WE FORGET.

23.01.2022 A great loss. Rest peacefully Ken. Our thoughts and sympathy goes to the Dorrington family.

23.01.2022 Jennifer Jones of Windsor, Ontario is our RI President 2022-23 - Congratulation and proud that finally we have woman President.

21.01.2022 New and worrying phone call scam. Dont get caught! Good morning, According to our system, you are likely to have been in close proximity to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. This means that you now need to self-isolate for 7 days and take a COVID-19 test. OK. Can you tell me who that person was? Im not able to tell you that. That is confidential information.... Right. Um... so .... But you do need to be tested within the next 72 hours. So can I just get the best mailing address so that we can send a kit to you? Ok (gives address) Thank you - and I just need to take a payment card so that we can finalize this and send the kit to you. Sorry - a payment card? I thought this was all free? No - Im afraid not. There is a one-off fee of $50 for the kit and test results. Could you read off the long card number for me, please, when youre ready. No - thats not right. Im afraid it is. Can you give me the card number please - this is very important, and there are penalties for not complying. Puts the phone down. This is how scammers work. And vulnerable people will fall for it. Dont fall for it...! COPY and PASTE watch out. #RotaryInternational #RotaryDistrict9510 See more

16.01.2022 As we farewell a challenging year may we take a brief moment to reflect on the successes we were able to achieve. Whilst it was difficult we still managed to continue to reduce Polio and raise Polio awareness, discovered new ways to stay connected in an otherwise isolated world and spread the Rotary message of Do Good in the World. May 2021 bring more opportunities to change people’s lives. Wishing everyone all the best for the new year ahead.

16.01.2022 When we eradicate polio it will be only the second human disease wiped off our planet. And we can do it with the science of vaccines. Watch to learn why science... educator Bill Nye The Science Guy knows #VaccinesWork and how the progress made in the fight to #EndPolio is proof. #WorldImmunizationWeek

16.01.2022 What an amazing day at the Yunta Hay Run. Congratulations to everyone involved in such a great cause. Rotarians visited from Port Pirie, Peterborough, Broken Hill, Coromandel Valley, St Peters and Burnside to witness the delivery of 240 hay bales to much needing farmers in Yunta.

15.01.2022 Another great way Rotarians are doing good in the world. 1420 puppy pads delivered for the Adelaide Koala Rescue Centre donated by members of the Rotary Club of Port Pirie. AKR provide much needed medical attention to koalas displaced, orphaned or injured. They desperately need support to continue providing this much needed care to our precious wildlife.

14.01.2022 The times they are a-changing friends! And in all kinds of feel good ways. We have our first female RI President-Nominee (well, not officially until 1 October, ...but whos counting?), we have the worlds very first Rotaract Pride Club in support of the LGBTIQ+ community, and, after decades of work across 47 countries on the continent, the World Health Organisation has declared the African region wild poliovirus-free! In a time when the new normal is the catchphrase on everyones lips, we are loving the look of this new normal! Check it all out in the September edition of Rotary Down Under. See more

13.01.2022 The Ute had a busy day in Port Pirie. Travelling around town before our event, participating in the scavenger hunt and passing the R100 baton to President Peter Richens. Many thanks to those who supported the event and raised much needed funds for this very worthy cause #EndPolioNow
