20.01.2022 Save Our Windmill The Rotary Park in Rochester is about to have a big transformation to make a wonderful play space for our kids. As a town we would love to... see the Windmill stay but to do this it needs some TLC. $20,000 needs to be raised to do this. So I have put together 2 hampers. One valued at $107 the other $65. For $2 a ticket puts you in the draw to win one. 100% of money raised will go to The Rotary Club of Rochester. Winners will be announced on December 11th, the night of our town market. So pop into the shop, give the shop a call or send us a message via facebook I you would like a ticket. #shoplocal #supportourtown #saveourwindmill #rochestervic #echuca_moama #lockingtonvic #bendigo See more

14.01.2022 We are proud to be helping the Rotary Club of Rochester raise funds to save the windmill in Rotary Park. Alex is pictured here with the current tally - almost at half way so if you want to help come into branch we can help you donate. #rotary #rochestervic #windmill #playground

13.01.2022 Our Club's annual Nativity Scene display has moved and can now be viewed in the window of the Rotary Club Book Shop, High Street, Eaglehawk. You are now able ...to view, close up, this amazing piece of Eaglehawk's history, thanks to the brilliant restoration work of Rotarian Trevor Lock who has painstakingly spent many hours ensuring each individual piece looks it's best. Be sure to spend the time and read about the history of the Nativity Scene before moving down the hill to view the new Christmas Tree display on the balcony of the Star Cinema (Eaglehawk Town Hall). 09.01.2022 Yesterday was Volunteer Day 2020! A day to recognize Rotarians across the globe who are an army of volunteers! We thank every Rotarian & associate for the volu...nteer hours you contribute as we connect with the 1.2 Million Rotarians who volunteer across the world to help others. Imagine how much we would have had to pay to buy all this donated medical & disability equipment that is packed in the 40ft container now on its way to Cambodia. Imagine how much we would have had to pay in wages to get people to sort & pack the medical items, to make the special wheelchairs that are made by a 200+ volunteers at the shed in WA (Wheelchairs For Kids), to make the reusable sanitary kits that are made & donated by the wonderful sewing volunteers here in Melbourne (Days For Girls), to pack the container & then get the paperwork, including the long manifest in order, that is done to get this to all happen. Yes it takes hundreds of volunteer hours & not 1 cent in wages or payment for the goods being sent has been paid. Just the cost of the actual shipping....that is all. What an amazing accomplishment these volunteers have achieved. Thank you to everyone of you who contribute to a project such as this & there are so many more. In this case we will never meet the disabled child who’s life will now be improved in so many ways by your act of kindness. Thank you to our wonderful volunteer friends as we partner together to help so many at ‘Wheelchairs For Kids’ & ‘Days For Girls’ The reward is just trusting & caring enough to just do it! Together we Can change people’s lives forever. Along the way we meet new people & become friends who are like-minded volunteers who are also ready to roll up their sleeves to help many others. That is what it is to be a Rotarian. Thank you to each one of you

03.01.2022 Our key international project to celebrate the 2021 centenary of Rotary in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Rotary Give Every Child A Future is now under...way. Working in partnership with UNICEF, it is introducing three vaccines into nine Pacific Island countries. Raising funds to complete this project is a priority. Diseases such as pneumonia and diarrhoea remain leading killers of children under five years of age and high rates of life-threatening cervical cancer continue to devastate Pacific Island families. These life-saving vaccines will: Vaccinate girls against the common forms of cervical cancer caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Protect children against rotavirus, which causes life-threatening diarrhoea in children under five. Prevent pneumococcal disease, which causes The project is now underway, with vaccines ordered and the essential refrigeration equipment needed to store them being procured. The COVID-19 pandemic is causing some delays due to travel and other restrictions, but a lot can still be done remotely, and UNICEF is planning for the first children to receive the vaccines in early 2021. Rotary Give Every Child A Future is a three- to four-year, US$3.9 million project. With the support of nine global grants from The Rotary Foundation, Rotary International one for each country for the first year of the project, funds raised through clubs, individual Rotarians and most Rotary districts in Australia and New Zealand are funding the US$1.3 million needed for year one.
