19.01.2022 As of today, the helipad at the RHH is operational and open for patient transport! With two touch downs today, it was a successful first day for the helipad. We envision this will reduce the response time to emergent patients! #hospitalhelipad #westpacrescuehelicopter #ambulancetasmania #tasmaniapolice
19.01.2022 Love is in the air! (Literally...) Congratulations to Jess and Mollie, who were recently engaged. Jess planned a very special day, including a flight to Home Hill for lunch and scenic views of Huonville, Cygnet, and Hobart. He popped the question in the air, after lunch. ... It is always such a privilege to be involved! #rotorlift #engagement

17.01.2022 Tasmania’s search and rescue capability is expanding with additional police officers and flight paramedics trained for duties on-board the Westpac Rescue Helico...pter. Seven new crew members are in the final stage of their training to become part of the search and rescue team of police officers, paramedics and doctors that utilise Westpac Rescue Helicopter Tasmania, said Senior Constable Chris Williams from Police Marine and Rescue Services. Two police Constables (both men) will complete training on 11 December, adding to the five additional intensive care flight paramedics (four men and one woman) who completed training recently. Next week all seven additional air crew members will have completed their rigorous training program, which included a ground and flying course, wilderness survival, and wire awareness, said Senior Constable Williams. Being part of the rescue helicopter crew is a challenging but rewarding and exciting role. The new members will increase the rescue crew to a total 13 Police, 12 Doctors and 15 Intensive Care Flight Paramedics on a roster system. Each of the additional member is highly-qualified and satisfied a long list of essential criteria to become rescue crew members. As summer commences, it is timely to remind anyone planning on exploring in Tasmania’s wilderness to be prepared. Before heading out into the wilderness, remember to register your personal locator beacon and carry it with you at all times, check the weather forecast, carry appropriate safety equipment and supplies and always advise someone of your travel plans and intended route. . #Westpac Rescue Helicopter Tasmania #Rotorlift Aviation #Ambulance Tasmania
16.01.2022 The Tasmanian Flying Mos have finished movember exceeding all goals we set for ourselves. We are immensely proud of the effort of these people, and all those who supported the cause. We celebrated this achievement with a BBQ, and some rightfully deserved recognition, including Most money raised, being awarded to Mathew Drumm of Tasmania Police. Rotor-Lift proudly supported the team with a donation of $5,000 yesterday, bringing our total $12,991 for Movember 2020. Amazing effort from all who participated!

14.01.2022 Police including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Tasmania have rescued a 58 year old Hobart bushwalker after he activated a personal locator beacon in the state’s... far south-west this afternoon. The patient had injured his leg in a fall and was forced to activate his PLB. Tasmania Police was notified of the activation about 4pm. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the scene, with the bushwalker being airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment. Great work team!
