21.01.2022 MARKET UPDATE / Sadly, we are not going to proceed with the 9 August 2020 Round She Goes market in Coburg that wed planned (before Covid-19). Like the whole event industry, were very restricted in our operations because of the necessary social distancing requirements. Also, a great deal of event planning and marketing effort goes into each event we put on and our plans take around 6-8 weeks to implement. Without any certainty of knowing what the state of the Covid-19 health... crisis will be in August, it makes it very, very hard to plan. For businesses like ours, the effects of the pandemic are far from over and sacrificing our business for a health crisis has been very hard. And yet, we are thankful that were not in the grips of a major health catastrophe in Australia right now. Wed love to jump in and resume but its not time yet. So, we wait. Emma and Lee x

20.01.2022 I was lucky enough to spend my Friday morning in a mentoring session with Kristina Karlsson thanks to my winning bid on the kikki.K bushfire community fundraise...r. Its funny to meet someone you feel like you already know (because you admire them so much), but it also because shes so warm, generous, down to earth and kind. The session has given me a lot to think about in my own business and my dreams. And no matter the size of your business (or dreams!) Kristina and I both share the same perspective in that we appreciate what we have (our family, our health our opportunity to be here - alive!) and that resilience is probably the greatest quality a business owner can have. Were living in such uncertain times, so we have to continue to learn and grow and support our communities. #IWD2020 has also given me a chance to reflect. I always feel a strong responsibility to the women who support my business - about 95% of the stallholders across the three market brands (Round She Goes, The Makers & Shakers Market, Slow Fashion Market) are women. Its a huge privilege to play a part in helping other women with their dreams. Whether they want to live more creatively or build their own financial success from their talents or passions, I always want to create an environment where women can connect with other like-minded women in a fun and safe environment. I have learnt so much from Kristinas book and her podcast and highly recommend if youre looking to either work out what you want to do with your life, whether its a business dream or ANYTHING (just to make sure life just doesnt pass by without a path or direction), then get stuck into DREAMING. I listened to the audiobook and I felt like I was actually making new neural pathways in my brain just by thinking about answers to the challenging, thought provoking questions. 17.01.2022 http:// COVID-19: Why we are temporarily postponing our events // We’ve been monitoring the COVID-19 crisis daily and staying informed from the official government source, the Chief Medical Officer. The advice from health officials to governments is that gatherings/events should not go ahead until the pandemic is contained. This move is designed to slow the pace of spread and keep our health system from being overwhelmed like we have seen in countries like Italy. Sadly this means ...we can't proceed with the market on Sunday 31 May and therefore the event will be postponed until the worst of the crisis is behind us. The health and safety of the community has to come first. The phrase ‘uncharted territory’ has been used a lot and that’s the one thing we’re all experiencing together: nobody knows how this crisis will unfold and it’s that uncertainty which makes things so difficult as we simply can’t predict the outcome. We are acutely aware how important events are to the livelihoods of our stallholders. Organising events is our livelihood and deciding to postpone these events will hit us personally very hard in the short term (and we can’t think of a business that won’t be affected). But our duty of care to the health of attendees and stallholders is paramount. Sadly, we are all facing some really challenging times ahead. Mel named her business after her late Nan (see the last pic), a woman with whom she shared a great love for quality fashion and op shop hunting. Our website isnt up at the moment as its having a bit of a refresh. Meanwhile, here are the first round of dates for your diary:... ADELAIDE / SAT 16 MAY (Goodwood Community Centre) SYDNEY / SAT 23 MAY (Marrickville Town Hall) MELBOURNE / SUN 31 MAY (Coburg Town Hall) Applications for these dates will open on our website on Monday 2 March. The first round of events are always CRAZY popular, so please dont delay getting your application in as you may miss out. BIG HINT: we ask applicants to send us photos of the three BEST items theyll be selling. So get these pics and descriptions ready now and youll be ready to apply on 2 March! 13.01.2022 Stallholder Cheray has been a vintage collector/seller for over a decade and after keeping all the best pieces for herself (the pieces she couldnt bear to part with) she has decided to let them go this Sunday! Cheray is parting with dresses like this 1950s dusty pink prom gown she planned to wear for her wedding and the gorgeous white bridal cocktail dress that was for her reception...till she decided to elope and neither would fit in her suitcase! She also has whole host o...f floral numbers, mainly 1950s and 1960s and a few maxi floral 1970s beauties, a bombshell style 1950s swimsuit, vintage cami from burlesque star Lilli St Cyrs lingerie range, bags, clutches, and shoes she never even worn!
