24.01.2022 It is Sunday, September 27th == Closed Today == * It is 'World Tourism Day' * 1958 - Irvine Welsh born, he will be 62 today ... Tourism is one of the world’s most important economic sectors. It employs one in every ten people on Earth and provides livelihoods to hundreds of millions more. For some countries, it can represent over 20 percent of their GDP. It allows people to experience some of the world’s cultural and natural riches and brings people closer to each other, highlighting our common humanity. It is all a bit different now with COVID-19 but it will settle in time to a new normal, don't you worry about that. Irvine Welsh is a Scottish writer with numerous ventures behind him. His first book 'Trainspotting' was adapted to film and took on a life of its own, both book and film have grown a cult following. There is a sequel & prequel, you can find a few of these on our shelves, you can see the film version of the original here it the image. 22.01.2022 The 4017 Project is go for 2021! From the 1st February to the 31st May 2021 50% of all Book Sales in Round Table Coffee will be heading to Brighton State School! Back in the inaugural year of the 4017 Project Brighton State School received the nice figure of $338. In the 4 years since the Project has grown in many ways but the most obvious is our batch of Guest Sponsors. Found on North Rd in Brighton, Brighton State School is a well rated and respected primary with a solid c...ommunity around it. Cleanskin Coffee Co will be matching Round Table Coffee's donation towards the school which is SUPER FANTASTIC. We have been brewing Cleanskin Coffee Co since we opening in 2014; you love it, we love it, everyone loves them. Cleanskin Skin Co has been around since 2008, they don't muck about with what they do and we are proud to have them on-board as our first Guest Sponsor for 2021. 'String Cheese Day' was founded in 2017 by Galbani, September 20th gives string cheese lovers from coast to coast the opportunity to talk about their favorite snack and exchange recipe ideas. 19.01.2022 It is Saturday, September 19th == Open 6am - 12pm == * It is 'International Red Panda Day' * 1911 - William Golding born, he passed away in 1993... With the decline in their habitat, International Red Panda Day hopes to encourage people to learn about these adorable creatures and help save the biome in which they live. Mr Golding was a English born author, he published a number of quite successful books in his years. His first books title will be likely known to most with 'Lord of the Flies', you will find this on our shelves if you'd like to see it. Rather than that book we have 'The Spire' from 1964 instead, grab this one later if you'd like? Saturday has us here until 12pm, we'll see you soon?

'Punctuation Day' was established to help reinforce these lessons we learned in primary school, and to reinforce their use and to show just how important they can be to ensure that what you write is properly interpreted as what you mean. "Weird Al" Yankovic tells us all about punctuation in 'Word Crimes', a good song with a fun video that is quite informative. Jim Henson was an American puppeteer, animator, cartoonist, actor, inventor, filmmaker, and screenwriter. He created The Muppets & Fraggle Rock and has a huge impact on Sesame Street too. 12.01.2022 It is Friday, September 25th == Open 6am - 2pm == //// Sushi Friday \\\\... * It is 'One Hit Wonder Day' * 1911 - Eric Williams born, he passed away in 1981 Eric Williams served as the first Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago; 1962 until his death in 1981. We don't have a Williams book on our shelves so we will use our CD's for an image instead. 'One Hit Wonder Day' brings back memories while turning up the volume. The day honours all the musical artists and chart-topping songs that make them memorable. These songs make us sing whether we should or not. We know all the words even though we don’t know why. What is you favourite One Hit Wonder? World Bamboo Day is a day of celebration to; increase the awareness of bamboo globally, to protect natural resources and the environment, to ensure sustainable utilization, to promote new cultivation of bamboo for new industries in regions around the world, as well as promote traditional uses locally for community economic development. Harold Courlander was an American novelist, folklorist, and anthropologist, he published 35 books and many papers in his years. Happy Birthday fictional Hobbits. Thomas Harris is an American author, his greatest success has been 'The Silence of the Lambs' and the other stories in that series. This book was adapted to the mega successful 1991 film of the same name. You will find the book and more in the series on our shelves, you can see a few here in the image. 04.01.2022 Today the 4017 Project made a distanced brief presentation at Bracken Ridge State High School. The 4017 Project shares 50% of the Book Sales in Round Table Coffee to selected schools during the school. The period of July to October this year had Bracken Ridge State High School benefiting, specifically the total here will go the school's P&C. The Grand Total going to Bracken Ridge State High School is ... $! This total has $1338 from Round Table Coffee with another $1338 from the 4017 Project's Guest Sponsor this time around in Cr Sandy Landers. This has given a new record total for the one school, we are blushing thinking about how great this is. Over 2020, with all COVID-19 related changes and things the 4017 Project has still managed to donate $3842 between 2 schools. Thank you to everyone that has purchased a book, donated books, shared things online or spoken about the project with someone; you have helped all this happen. In the last 4 years there has now been a bit over $13,000 donated in the 4017 area, we are super proud of this. We will have new schools into 2021, keep an eye out. World Maritime Day was celebrate the international maritime industry’s contribution towards the world’s economy, especially in shipping. It focuses on the importance of shipping safety, maritime security and the marine environment. Mr Chappell is a former cricketer who played for South Australia and Australia. He captained Australia (his grandfather and brother also captained Australia) between 1971 and 1975 before taking a central role in the breakaway World Series Cricket organisation. 02.01.2022 Our last Birthday Card post today, it was our 6th Birthday Today! Thank you to everyone that dropped by, the gifts were a nice surprise. We had 12 Free Coffee Winners with a roll of a dice, that was nice to celebrate. End of our morning showed up the 5th biggest Saturday we have had in the last 6 years; out of approx 300 Saturdays we think that is a fantastic thing. ... We have repeated this a few times this week but we are here because of those around us that visit us, thank you again. Monday from 6am will see us back for another week and a different format for our facebook updates. Each year on our Birthday we jiggle how we use facebook and this year will be the biggest jiggle. Rather than daily we will go to a weekly update, other posts may happen sporadically over the week but you won't see us post each and every morning.
