23.01.2022 Kudos to our U14/1 team who rallied from behind to produce a thrilling last ball tie against Hills Barbarians. Chasing a stiff 150 to win in 30 overs, our team was set up well by a brilliant 47 (58 balls) by Daman Brar, supported by Manav Narayan (18 off 25), Mokshaj Brahmbhatt (10 off 12), Gurshaan Punj (12 off 9) before losing our way to 8 for 113. Needing more than 8 runs an over to win at one stage, the Rams roared from behind through the measured strokeplay of Ron Sharma (30 off 23 balls) who was well supported by Bhav Pasricha (7 off 10 balls), both of whom kept their heads under pressure to get the U14 team to a memorable tie! 03.01.2022 What does our team need to do differently to win today?" asked one concerned parent to another prior to the match. "Show intent", said the other. Losing the toss and bowling first, the U14/1 Rams boys did just that. Disciplined bowling kept the scoring rate of Baulkham Hills Maroon just around 3. Arnav Mukundan was on a hat-trick; so was Daman Brar. In between Subhash Gadde executed a brilliant run-out. 6 of the wickets were bowled or lbw - that was how straight the bowling ...was. Chasing 92 to win, Ankith Kolla displayed plenty of intent in holding the Rams' innings together. The Maroon's bowling and fielding were tight; Ankith found ways to keep the scoreboard ticking; deft placements, lofted hits over the top and purposeful running between the wickets kept the asking rate well under control. Mokshaj (8) and Daman (11) supported Ankith well. After he fell for 29, Ron Sharma (20) and Bhav Paricha (11 n.o) played with freedom to get the Rams home comfortably in the 23rd over. 01.01.2022 Congratulations to Sharvil Shah and Isaac Baker from the 12/1’s, both of whom scored their first ever half centuries this morning. Sharvil scored 50* from 47 balls, and Isaac 53* from 61 balls, to guide our team to 197. Tom Humphries chipped in with 2/1 when play was called off in the 3rd over due to extreme heat. Well played boys!
