18.01.2022 Always a highlight of Route 66 to call in on Gary's Turners place in Missouri. A number of years ago I was unable to pay for some souvenirs because Gary couldn't take traveller's cheques. It'll be fine said Gary, pay me next time. My tours start and finish in Australia. It was 12 months later that I next called through and was delighted to give Gary the cash. He was absolutely chuffed and the look of pleasure on his face was a joy to see. Truly "a friend for life". A good bloke and Route 66 will be the poorer for his absence. RIP mate.
