23.01.2022 Here's a place that has been recommended by a family living in Tasmania; 'here's one accomodation place we love (i know we're not a large family, but the accomodation is suitable for larger than us). it is 'Eagles Rise' located at Sister's Beach in Tasmania (can check it out on FB). The area around here is absolutely gorgeous, and Sister's Beach is qute a small area so rather private with a great swimming spot for kids. Eagle's Rise has a few cottages, the largest has 3 bedro...oms (sleeps 6) and i think a fold out couch too in the lounge, with generous living areas. it's really like a small house! and all are only approx $90/night/cottage! when we were last there, i noticed some people had also brought a campervan or tent to have outside so perhaps for extra people that's a possibility to discuss with the owners (lovely Christian, ex-missionary, couple).' 18.01.2022 Here's some feedback on one of our listed properties; Anchorage holiday units - Just would like to say that we stayed with them when we had 4 kids and 2 adults. They were so friendly and had no problem with needing a portacot. We had the biggest cabin and it had a lovely pool next to it where our 2 1/2 yr old learnt to swim in the 4 days we were there. It was about 5 years ago but they were fabulous. Playground was nice and near the laundry so you could be putting on washing and still keep an ear out for kids. We found them in the RACV magazine. Hope this helps someone. Anne'

10.01.2022 We had a fantastic weekend in Cairns last weekend. Whilst many of the big attractions are very pricey for a family, there is still plenty to do that is within budget. The Daintree heritage region has walks & information centres & Mossman Gorge was a highlight. Another highlight was a Daintree river croc cruise on the 'Crocodile Express'. The price was reasonable & the kids had a great time - even got to drive the boat!
