25.01.2022 http://www.smh.com.au//want-a-bmw-no-disposable-income-no- An absolutely scathing article about a 'reputable brand'... The best part is "Ernst & Young looked at 100 BMW customer files that it considered questionable. It found 98 per cent breached the consumer credit code." A good Broker will never breach the Consumer Credit Code.

25.01.2022 http://www.abc.net.au//five-facts-which-show-gen-y/7644186 Now, its not the most inspiring article for the younger generation in the pursuit of home-ownership,and it certainly wont put the argument to rest about who has it tougher...but when taking the plunge - get the best advice! Call or PM me if you wish to know more...

25.01.2022 https://www.theadviser.com.au//38298-heightened-focus-on-e A good article to explain the main focus of Lender assessment these days - your living expenses. It's not what the Banks are prepared to lend you, it's what you can actually afford. These are 2 very different things. Before you apply for a home loan you must know what you spend on a regular basis - utilities, subscriptions, gym, entertainment...everything.

24.01.2022 http://www.canberratimes.com.au//act-government-simplifies Wow, a government that is flexible with how you pay them, now that is something new... Hopefully it passes without too many amendments.

23.01.2022 Did you know that in the last 6mths the Banks have created 4 different reference rates for the homeloan market? If you are paying interest only your rate has been increased, if you are investor your rate has been increased, if you are paying off the principal your rate has been lowered, and if you are paying both investment & interest only well let’s just say you need to review your lending quick smart. Check your EOFY financials and if you want some advice on how to re-structure your lending then get in contact with me.

21.01.2022 Snow Snow Snow... A very lovely way to start the day - until I had to scrape the snow of my windscreen!

20.01.2022 http://www.rba.gov.au//rba-board-minu/2016/2016-08-02.html Now, while I know not all of you get excited by dry-economic-speak like I do, but the latest minutes detailing RBA's decision to lower the cash rate is 'slightly' interesting. Don't say I didn't warn you though... It is probably the last serious rate decision the RBA will make this year (you heard it here first btw) - but that doesn't mean that the Banks wont act for their shareholders and raise their interest rates independently...

20.01.2022 http://www.canberratimes.com.au//national-australia-bank-p Well, don't let the headline fool you, not ALL banks have passed on the 'full' rate cut... As I always ask - is your homeloan working for you or your Bank??

18.01.2022 http://www.canberratimes.com.au//asic-foreshadows-action-a This isn't a story you might see on your FB feed from your bank. At the moment the Banks are definitely squeezing investment lending (ie you will pay more) but also take note that owner occupied lending is tricky too! It is always good to seek good advice on your particular loan scenario - everyone is different!

18.01.2022 http://www.smh.com.au//westpac-raises-home-loan-rates-2017 I would say all of the Banks are now getting in line, drafting up some sort of press release about rising costs and market difficulties. The bottom line is we have had a great run of record low interest rates and the RBA is very much using its big sticks (ASIC, APRA) to keep the Banks and us as borrowers in line by not over-borrowing. Once the dust settles on this round of rate increases - have a look at your homeloan and ask me to see if you can do better. It could put some money in your pocket, rather than in the Banks...

18.01.2022 http://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2016/mr-16-10.html Well - that is quite surprising - now its over to the Banks - will they pass the rate cut on???

17.01.2022 If you have had a home loan with one of the Big 4 banks and haven't reviewed it in the last 3-4 years - now is the time to do so. Owning your home is one of the biggest investments you will make - don't let your money go to a company's profit... http://www.brokernews.com.au//big-four-market-share-on-the

17.01.2022 http://www.abc.net.au//up-to-1-million-households-/9976268 It has been a while since I last posted - but this needs to be called out. Mr North (the author) as always been a bit of a doomsayer - please see other articles he has written. This article is less about the click-bait headline but more about the statement by Ms King 'She explained that the banks are facing increasing pressure from shareholders to maintain their profit margins, and that means they will raise their rates soon.' Perhaps this could be discussed? Haven't they profited enough from the lax lending standards in the past? Just my 2 cents...

17.01.2022 http://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2016/mr-16-18.html It has been lowered...with a calm explanation. Thanks Glenn. Now its up to your Bank to see how they will navigate this minefield of pleasing their customers and shareholders...

16.01.2022 http://www.smh.com.au//westpac-and-nab-raise-some-interest Well... Merry Christmas investors/interest only repayers, you get a rate increase from your Bank. I doubt ANZ and CBA would miss out on an opportunity like this to do the same, so watch this space...

14.01.2022 All I have to say today is - Go the Blues!!!!!! http://www.smh.com.au//state-of-origin-2016-who-will-win-g

14.01.2022 https://www.theadviser.com.au//35905-brokers-most-influent I am sure you all knew this already, but it's a comforting read...

13.01.2022 Yes, things are a little weird...but pretty decent advice

12.01.2022 http://www.smh.com.au//rba-will-have-to-cut-rates-multiple An interesting opinion coming from a creditable analyst, but don't think for a second that the Banks will rushing to cut their rates if the RBA make a move. What does this mean for you - 'the interested in buying property person'? Not much really, as the promise of interest rates being lowered should be not 'the' driving decision on your ability to buy a home. Take a wider view and seek good advice. From me...

11.01.2022 Well the rate was never going to change but the final comments by the RBA are worth noting...'With leverage increasing, supervisory measures have strengthened lending standards and some lenders are taking a more cautious attitude to lending in certain segments.' Very true words indeed. https://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2017/mr-17-02.html

11.01.2022 http://www.domain.com.au//buying-a-home-when-single-is-un/ An interesting article that I would have to agree with. When buying in your own name - get some advice and look/plan ahead with your loan structure.

10.01.2022 Merry Christmas and have a great New Years! The office will be closed from Fri 22/12/17 to 2/1/2018. Travel safe and take care of each other!

09.01.2022 Lately I have been asked - whats going on the in the Homeloan market these days? My answer right now is - Refinancing. If you have a Homeloan and its over 4yrs old then it needs to be reviewed. Period. There are better loans and rates out there right now than what you currently have. And YOUR Bank will NOT call you to let you know this... Speak to a Mortgage Professional - ie. Me...and I can give you great, honest and upfront advice on what your next steps should be.

08.01.2022 By now if you were planning to buy/sell/refinance and have it settled before Christmas it would need to have been exchanged/ approved by this week, and FYI its Thursdayso really your time is up. But I am sure you already knew that! Banks run on skeleton staff over Christmas, the settlement room in Canberra closes for 2 weeks and most, if not all, Conveyancers are closed as well. But! I am still hereso if you need any advice on structure and rates or are just looking to review your lending just call or PM me to discuss it further

07.01.2022 An interesting article that advises to seek advice rather than fluffing around on Banks websites looking for answers...

07.01.2022 RBA decision day - Will they or Won't they? I look forward to their explanatory statement to say the least..

07.01.2022 While it is a bad news article by the Herald Sun and as such it is guaranteed to get you angry about something...the article is quite right, it's just you can't actually change what the Banks are doing. But good news! What you can do is review your home loan, check your interest rate & structure and make sure you are paying off more of your home loan than handing too much of your money to the Banks...That's what you can change! http://www.heraldsun.com.au//5ad7730b906ada2fd2b4bfc298ad6

06.01.2022 http://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2016/mr-16-17.html Fair enough i would think...the recent world upheaval (Brexit, Iceland beating England hahaha) as well as our election that just keeps dragging on...means 'lets just wait and see eh?'

05.01.2022 Its very important you know how much you spend on your life every month...

04.01.2022 This is uncharted economic territory. More interesting musings by the RBA. https://www.abc.net.au//rba-cuts-rates-to-a-new-l/11270464

03.01.2022 http://www.brokernews.com.au//almost-half-of-aussie-home-o Quite an alarming statistic really - as your Bank will not call you up and say 'Hey, did you know you are paying too much interest and your loan is making us money?'. That's a fact...

02.01.2022 https://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2019/mr-19-15.html Interesting times - RBA has dropped the cash rate by 0.25%. Lets just wait and see what the Banks do...

02.01.2022 http://www.nytimes.com/2016//22/arts/music/prince-dead.html Even Mortgage Brokers have taste...this is my fave article (so far) about the man, the enigma, the legend that was Prince....

02.01.2022 Merry Christmas to everyone and have a great New Years! 2017 should be awesome and stay safe over the next few weeks! Stay calm on the roads, be nice to each other and have a great time

02.01.2022 http://www.rba.gov.au/speeches/2016/sp-gov-2016-09-22.html A nice little summary of our countries monetary policy by the new RBA Governor - Phillip Lowe. oh..and Go Raiders!

01.01.2022 Ok... so the Big banks only handed over half the love to us borrowers yesterday. Either way, Homeloan interest rates are at an all-time low - is yours? http://www.canberratimes.com.au//banks-act-to-protect-mort
