24.01.2022 ~ Twelve years down and great adventure ahead. I am sure that many would agree when I say "Bush kids" are different. They have a maturity and honesty about them that you simply can not compete with. When I first met Toby, my first thought was "I am sure none of us were this good looking in high school" and secondly, the workforce is about to receive one of the nicest, genuine guys I have met in a long time. Toby, I imagine that you have been waiting for this day for what see...ms like forever and it's hard to believe that you have almost reached your graduation. I know you will succeed at whatever life looks like for you on the outside of school. Thank you for trusting me with your photos and I wish you all the best for your future ahead.

22.01.2022 ~ Isn't it beautiful when the strong are also gentle. Seeing these big, beautiful girls is a real treat. Anyone that loves horses will understand just how special these girls really are. It's a shame to say that you just don't see many of them around. When Dr Joanne Smith pointed out these girls on a recent trip to Weatherford Equine in Emerald, I promised I would share the images. So, horse community, if you recognise these beautiful horses, please tag their owners.

18.01.2022 ~ I have been back through this album numerous times but I still have a hard time choosing a favourite. The incredibly sweet Green girls with their special little friend Ruby. Finishing up a session is always a bitter sweet moment but the sooner these photos are in the hands of their lovely owners, the better. Thank you once again to Zilla & Keegan for having me out to your lovely home. I hope you love your images as much as I have loved working on them.

18.01.2022 ~ "Always be yourself, everyone else is taken." Oscar Wilde This is without a doubt the biggest, single family shoot I have photographed to date. 3.5 hours, well over 2000 photographs and plenty of endless belly laughs had me thinking that this is one of the best careers I could possibly choose. I mean, how often does a person get to be out in the field following around an amazing family and their very cool dog right in the thick of harvest?... When Nikki first contacted me, the plan was always to get photos that were of them being their true selves, working their farm and completing the job as a family. I am so incredibly privileged to be asked to take these images because I now understand that harvest waits for no one. If you have ever wondered about getting your photos taken, please consider thinking outside of the box. You are not limited to the same style of photo that every single other family on social media has. (Remember the white t-shirt, blue jean faze) It's safe to say that the Green family have created memories that will be very hard to replicate. Your family, your story!! Do what works for you!

17.01.2022 ~ No pen push'n hands around here. Please, never feel the need to wipe your hand when you shake mine. My own Father raised us kids with beat and battered hands. His nails are worn and his hands still show the labor of his work. Every winter we would rub 'Tough Hands' into the cracks that got so bad they would bleed, even with the efforts we took to care for them. Despite the harshness of the wounds on his hands, it never altered his ability to show love or care for his famil...y or others. These very hands, although worn and weathered are actually more soft than you could possibly begin to imagine and they have a story to tell. So please, when you go to shake my hand, just know that I am admiring yours.

15.01.2022 ~ I had not met Wallace prior to Friday but it did not take me long to work out that behind that slightly cheeky smile, a lovely man stood. Wallace, twelve years is a long time to be at school and I just hope you know that so many wonderful times await you outside of your school years. I wish you all the best for the remainder of the year and into your life on the 'outside.' Thank you so much for trusting me with your formal photos, it was lovely to meet you.

15.01.2022 ~ The bitter sweet moment when you are finished with a session and it's all wrapped up ready to be mailed off. Families go to a great deal of time and effort to show up for me. They spend hours wondering what to wear, choosing a location and planning for the day. Not to mention the hard earned $ that they feel I am worthy of. Every time a message pops up in my inbox or my phone rings with an enquiry, please know that from that very moment onwards, I will show up for you.

The whispered words and tiny smirks, subtle winks and scrunched nose belly laughs are the moments worth remembering. I could spend hours trying to erase the falling rain in these images but why? 13.01.2022 ~ Everyday life photos have turned out to be some of my favourites. When you live in the bush, getting all dressed up for photos is an absolute treat but honestly, some of the best memories captured are the ones where families are themselves. In all the rawness and honesty of a true B & W photo, the Bradley family shared a few precious moments of what it is like growing up on a grain farm. I have made a promise to myself to share more "real" photos and I just couldn't pass on these.

I will be opening up very few spots for Christmas bookings that may fall on weekdays. ... This is my beautiful family and the reason I picked up a camera to begin with. Without them, this crazy journey would not have come to life.

They say the friendships you make in high school travel with you through to your adult life and I can imagine this being the case for you both.

09.01.2022 Everything is beautiful, calm and peaceful in this image of Keegan wrapping his arms around his amazing wife Zilla. By what you see here, you wouldn't be able to tell that this amazing couple has been through a hell of a year. I have always thought that Zilla is the most beautiful girl around town and I knew she was incredibly talented but I underestimated just how tough she is. You see, when faced with a situation that would make many of us fall in a heap and cry, Zilla kept things going on their family property and did a hell of a job too. It's not hard to see why Keegan chooses to wrap his arms around such an amazing Lady. Hats off to you both and I hope the rest of the years sails by a lot easier than the start.

08.01.2022 ~ I was given the opportunity to photograph this incredible lady just recently. It is slightly daunting to bring your camera out in front of a fellow photographer and even more daunting when they are such a Legend. This is Trina Patterson. The heart behind "Baked with Love." For those who do not already know, "Baked with Love" was a large community of Aussies who jumped on Trina's incredible idea of sending baked goods to the flood victims up North. If you have ever had th...e chance to come across Trina in your travels you will understand when I tell you that she really is a genuine, one of a kind lady who just happens to have a heart of gold. I know Trina will shy at me saying this but I don't think there would be a hand in this community that Trina has not gone out of her way to help. From cakes delivered to Drovers travelling through, community events and putting the small town of Rolleston on the map, we are incredibly blessed to have Trina as an active part of the district. ~ Trina is pictured here with one of her beloved bottle trees and you can just tell by the smile on her face that she lights up when she talks about them. 08.01.2022 ~ The letter was pored over. Every curve and dip of each word, made to reflect the personality of the one who spent hours writing it. Do you remember the old, handwritten letters that showed up in the mail, sent from loved ones who had taken time out of their day, for you? Don't worry if your answer is no, because neither does anybody else. I am here to change that. You see, when your images are delivered to you, you can be sure that I, with my unpaid hired help, have spent... hours writing and delivering a beautiful parcel to you. Modern technology is great but where is the connection? I'd rather deliver you something tangible.

08.01.2022 ~ Laney & Toby ~ You wouldn't know from this photo that Toby had hurt his collarbone. Between Laney and Toby, both managed to hide the fact that Toby had previously been wearing his right arm in a sling. It was a constant juggle to avoid the injury but these two awesome pair made it all so easy. Laney & Toby, I hope you enjoyed your night. 07.01.2022 ~ If you were to ask me where the last eight days went, chances are I couldn't tell you. I probably couldn't even tell you what day of the week today is. When I first made my photography page public closer to the start of the year I set my self a goal of reaching 500 people by December. It turns out I didn't set the bar high enough because at the start of August I managed to reach my target. I am honestly blown away at the support shown towards this wild adventure of mine. S...omehow, between a husband who works shift work for 'down time', farming, cattle, horses, dogs and three little ones with busy lives themselves, I have thrown myself into something that has grown beyond my wildest dreams. Without your help, I would not be able to pursue this roller coaster ride, so thank you. Sometime during the madness we call life, I mailed out this amazing session to the beautiful family pictured. The Rafter's wanted photos to remember their time on their family property before making a change to bigger and better things. This session really hit home for me as not so long ago, we were in the same position. As they say, when one door closes, another opens and it turns out that sometimes, big moves are the best decisions of your life.

You see, I have a bit of a soft spot for this incredible beauty. All through my high school years, it was well known that Kate is an incredible horsewoman so when I was offered this opportunity to photograph her on her special day, I just couldn't possibly say no. Kate, it is no secret how gifted you are with horses but you are also many other things. Kind, brave and strong are a few that come to mind and I just know that you have so many wonderful adventures waiting ahead for you.
