09.01.2022 ** Case study focus ** We were engaged by an Australian oil and gas exploration and production company to provide strategic contracts and procurement assistance for an upcoming coal seam gas project. Our highly experienced consultants developed and implemented numerous processes and policy improvements to encompass compliances to pre- and post-award polices and standards. Further strategy development took place to build whole project contract strategies, drilling and complet...ion strategies and warehouse and inventory progress. 09.01.2022 * Case study focus * Rowe Advisory UK was approached by an oil and gas operator to review their C&P operating model and recommend actions to manage risk and ensure compliance. Concerns were lack of vendor due diligence, unclear C&P procedures and only one sourcing process regardless of risk and value. Our consultant undertook the study remotely, reviewing people, processes, systems and tools to identify risks and gaps in procedures. Interviews were conducted with stakeholders... and interim feedback from the key stakeholder ensured clarity and focus on the prioritised areas in the final report. Someone I admire once said to me, Jody, persistence pays in spades. For me, it’s true - how does this statement resonate with you? It’s hard running a small business: the financial risk, developing the business, impacts of global crises such as Covid-19, fluctuating oil prices, remote working. However, these challenges are offset by the many posi...tives such as flexibility, opportunity, the enjoyment of a different kind of success and the relationships you develop with mentors, coaches, friends and family, consultants and clients, and their support is critical to all SMEs. The negative noise, the faultfinders and the critics are just distractions. It’s important to focus on what you measure as success, and you are the judge of that! * Identify and manage risks * Design your business to fit your future life * Consistently market your business * Learn, learn and learn some more * Be philanthropic to not-for-profits and your community * Be selfish, and work on your work-life balance * Manage your time on good clients and good people * Be passionate about what you do or make a change * If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, if it is broke make a change.
