04.01.2022 The upcoming Barwon River Regatta 2019 is the 138th edition of the famous Geelong regatta. The two Geelong based rowing clubs, Barwon Rowing Club and Corio Bay Rowing Club, were founded in 1870 and 1873 respectively... and the clubs felt that a jointly arranged regatta would be a great way to promote rowing competition. So in 1876, the Geelong Rowing Association staged the first regatta. And now, 144 years later, here we are, on January 26th and 27th, ready to welcome rowers ...from around the state for a great weekend’s rowing competition. Most of the top schoolboy and schoolgirl crews will be racing on the Saturday, and many top Victorian club rowers will be competing on the Sunday. It’s a fantastic weekend to be in Geelong with the Festival of Sails as well as the Cadel Evans Road Race cycling event, so come on down to Geelong, the Bellarine, and the Surf Coast for a great weekend!
04.01.2022 Congratulations to Olivia Sibillin (from Geelong's Corio Bay Rowing Club) and Hedda Cooper of MUBC for their 4th in the A Final of the Women's Pair at the World University Rowing Championships in Shanghai. Great work!
