24.01.2022 MORE EASING OF RESTRICTIONS As we get closer to normality, good news this week with density limits decreasing. We can now comfortably fit more people in the studio which is exciting! Tuesday Fit Forever ladies working hard!
22.01.2022 CONTROL ISSUES? I feel I should get a T shirt printed that reads "Lisa has control issues" lol - but so many of us do! If you're an organised A type, you'll be used to controlling workflow in your job, in your household, in your life, in your training. So when something happens (like Rona) that you can't control, it can feel very overwhelming. So look for the things you can control, and sweat less about the things that you can't.... And if fat loss is your thing - there are several things you REALLY can control.
21.01.2022 First week done and dusted. I love my zoom Pilates classes with all the ease and convenience but seeing my Personal Training studio full of people again? Priceless. This week has been like a super happy school reunion I’m so grateful to my gorgeous clients for their loyalty, support and fabulous attitudes. For those who have had questions about wearing masks when exercising - low impact or floor work would require a mask during exercise. Higher intensity huffy puffy doesn’t require a mask
21.01.2022 Discipline beats motivation. Every single time.
19.01.2022 2020, the year with ALL the history....
19.01.2022 HEALTHY DINNER IDEAS Need a high protein, chock full of veg easy dinner idea? Frittata it is I grated 3 large zucchini’s, threw some sliced capsicum in the air fryer (it’ll change your life ) and added chopped lean ham and spinach and spread it in a large oven proof dish.... I topped the ham and veggie yumminess with mixed eggs (see my HUGE goose egg? Amazing isn’t it!) 2% cottage cheese and some extra egg whites. A sprinkle of low fat cheese on top, into the oven for 30 mins and voila! High protein, high nutrient, dense with veggies and low in fat per serve. Winning.
19.01.2022 Merry Christmas from me and mine to you and yours xo

14.01.2022 I’m dedicating these last few days of 2020 to some memes I’ve collected this year. Please feel free to add your faves so we can kick this year to the curb in style.
13.01.2022 EASY FAT LOSS HACKS What if I told you there was a magic pill for successful fat loss? What if I told you the magic pill was in fact CONSISTENCY? Not sexy but GUARANTEED to work.... We know that fat loss is based around a calorie deficit - consuming fewer calories than you take in is the energy equation behind fat loss. The execution comes in many and varied different forms. Ideally you choose a method that suits you and your lifestyle and can be sustained permanently. The principles of fat loss are straight forward and simple. Not easy, but simple <<< I will repeat this my entire life because it's THAT important. So let’s look at the low hanging fruit for fat loss (pun). Easy changes that you can make every single day to work toward a fat loss goal. - take action. Action alleviates anxiety and allows you to work through mental hurdles you might be facing post Christmas feasts or any time you're struggling to focus. - eat a big arse salad every day. Veggies, veggies, veggies. - drink water. Small sips, big drinks, water bottles around the house and car - just get it in. - improve your sleep. This might be super challenging to some of you (me! menopause is blah!) but is essential. - protein at every meal. This is a game changer! - track your food and behaviours. If something worked for you - do MORE of that. - move more. Set a daily step count goal and do what you need to do. It might be as simple as actively moving around the house after every meal. It might be the full 10K steps. Just move more. And above and beyond everything - be CONSISTENT. Be consistent every meal. Be consistent every day. Be consistent every week. And guess what? The magic pill doesn’t cost a cent. But it’s the biggest investment you can make.
12.01.2022 Well Christmas is done, now to be planning some New Years resolutions ... or not
12.01.2022 Now this!!!! A nod to calories (energy balance), respect for food volume (lots of food on the plate feeds the eyes as well) and the understanding that we need quality calories as well.
12.01.2022 WE’RE BACK! And this is one of the happiest sights I’ve seen since March 23. Back in the studio, in person, live human beings!
11.01.2022 NEW YEAR NEW YOU Try MY way it’s the only way that works! BUY my product for insane rapid results! DETOX your liver, set yourself up for fat burning success! FASTING is magic, metabolic flexibility is the secret!... These and so many more are going to be spamming our media feeds for the next few weeks. BS, all of them, money making BS. Stay tuned this week for some science. Not quasi scientific mumbo jumbo, just the truth. Fat loss is in fact simple. Not easy, NEVER easy. But the principles - simple. Clue - calorie deficit may be mentioned
11.01.2022 So, how’s your summer going? (Installs new heater in living room).
10.01.2022 IF WE DON’T LIFT WOMEN, EVERYONE WILL FALL SHORT. Kamala Harris is the first female US Vice President in history as well as a woman of colour - strong women - may we all celebrate them . This is a good day!
09.01.2022 IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! While I won't be actively co-ordinating handbag collection this year, I'll still be reminding you to contribute to this very special charity. As restrictions ease and we can all access shops more easily, please consider this charity and add a few essential items whenever you're out and about. Bunnings is the official collection point, so when you've collected suitable items that will fill a handbag, please drop off your bag at your nearest Bunni...ngs store. It's a relatively small thing that could mean the world to a woman in need this Christmas.
08.01.2022 REMINDER Just keep pressing forward, no matter how small your progress is, it’s still progress.
08.01.2022 Remembrance Day 2020. Lest we forget.
07.01.2022 OUR NEW NORMAL It's only a few short weeks since our lockdown finished and we rediscovered all the things we've been missing this year - time with friends, connecting with family, a wander in nature more than 5km from home - the simple things :) I don't know about you, but I've been busy. Really busy. And I'm tired already.... I set a goal during our decade long lockdown to NOT return to the busyness that I'd fallen into BC (Before Covid). I wanted more time in my garden. I wanted more silence. I wanted time to do the things that actually resonate in my soul. Because while I have been making a shift during this last couple of years, I still wasn't meeting my quiet time needs. I am a mix of extrovert and introvert, as many of us are. I need to recharge in silence at home in order to deliver energy to my work. I love spending time with people, just not too much time. And here we are only 3 weeks into normality and it's all just busy busy busy. Yes, we're all catching up on 8 months of isolation so there's a push to get all the things done and see all the people we've missed. But I'm already seeing in myself, and hearing from clients, how they're missing classes, not having time to stretch, spending too much time in the car, putting others way ahead of their own self care. It's a slippery slope. If you LOVE being busy and live for that, go for it! If you're not prioritising physical and mental health in order to meet someone else's priorities. It's time to stop and think. It should not take a pandemic imposed lockdown to reflect on what we need and what we must do to meet those needs. So, what have we learned from this year? What do we need to change? And how can we make that happen? I'd love to hear your Ideas?
05.01.2022 WHY CALORIE DEFICIT? Weight loss is incredibly complicated. Incredibly!!!! Not because of the physiology but because marketing gurus have spent decades muddying the waters so that someone can spend money to lose weight. There's everything from eating for your star signs, eating right for your blood type, to the shape of your foot diet (yes, true, google it!!!!).... The most basic principle of fat loss is that you need to expend more energy than you take in. Calories are simply a unit of measurement of energy. Basic equation we've all heard of - energy in
04.01.2022 BELIEVING IN YOURSELF My last post was about the importance of discipline over motivation. Motivation comes and goes. Results ebb and flow. The trajectory for strength, fitness, fat loss, success, doesn’t come in a straight line upward. It meanders around, taking it’s own time and jumping forward in fits and starts.... You do the work, have faith in the process, practise your discipline and the results come. I’ve been doubting myself the last few months. My knee is getting very painful again (surgery end of this year), I’ve struggled with all kinds of mind games and just haven’t seen a real improvement in a good while. My first comp for 2021 is the end of March (please Rona, don’t stuff this up) and I’m finally feeling like I’m on track to get the numbers I’m after. Today was deadlifting 135kg for 3 reps with a projected single max of 157kg. My goal has been 150kg at comp. So we’re in business! Despite the self doubt, despite all the body challenges; I’ve kept doing the work, believing in the process. So today I’m celebrating. This week was a good week for all my lifts. I can be proud of pushing through the tougher times and appreciate that today was a good day with many more good days to come.
02.01.2022 Aaaaand this.....
01.01.2022 99% humidity! My garden is loving it. My hair is not :)
