04.01.2022 A lesson in perspectives
03.01.2022 What a difference a day makes! Photograph on the left ( first) taken yesterday morning looking southwards along the dry Pimpara lake bed. Right hand photograph... taken a few minutes ago, same lake bed, looking northwards. We are not expecting the lake to fill, has well over a metre to go, and much will soak away into the dry bed...but...it is quite amazing. See more
02.01.2022 How beautiful is that sound?! This is the moment water came down the Lower Darling at Karoola Station, north of Pooncarie, for the first time in more than a yea...r. "We've had rain and the river on April Fools Day, we're not sure we'll wake up in the morning and it's still going to be here ... it puts a bit of a spring in our step and everyone else's up and down the river," grazier Wayne Smith said. Thanks for the video Wayne! Has anyone else had a chance to see the river yet?
02.01.2022 I can still remember my first trip to Tibooburra. It was late at night ( in a little Suzuki, SO uncomfortable!) when the road was all dirt ( except for a small ‘test strip’ of bitumen about 30m long). Most of my travelling to Tib was pre bitumen and an absolute nightmare if there had been rain. Looking forward to my next tri!
