20.01.2022 We are in for a very hot day today! As temperatures increase over the weekend make sure that you keep a close eye on neighbours and loved ones, especially those that might be at risk under these conditions. 19.01.2022 With the BOM announcing that La Niña conditions are expected to continue until February 2021, this means a continuation of hot and humid weather in the region. There are a range of small yet significant steps we can all take to reduce breeding, control mosquito numbers and minimise their nuisance in the community. - Empty and relocate outdoor containers that can collect water (eg: buckets, trays) - Ensure household fly screens are in good order.... - Empty pot plant trays or fill them with sand. Further information can be found on the council and SA Health websites. http://www.roxbydowns.sa.gov.au/publichealth https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//pr/yourself/fight+the+bite #fightthebite

16.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN DECLARED TOMORROW There are severe fire weather conditions in the North West Pastoral and to the south of the state tomorrow. This means that the CFS has declared a total fire ban in the region. Severe weather means that:... - These are hot, dry and possibly windy conditions for a bush or grass fire. - If a fire starts and takes hold, it will be hard for fire fighters to bring under control. - Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety. - You must be physically and mentally prepared to defend in these conditions. Please stay well hydrated and safe, taking extra care in these conditions. For more information, head to www.cfs.sa.gov.au
