18.01.2022 Extension of free dumping times for household waste this week Council is extending its free access periods to the BSH Gosse Street facility for dumping of household waste at no charge. This applies to this week only. This announcement only relates to household waste and is separate to the furniture free dumping periods occurring this week. ... What does household waste mean? General household waste is any solid waste generated by domestic activities that isn’t suitable or doesn’t fit in your kerbside recycling or general waste bin. It does not include liquid waste, construction materials or hazardous waste.

13.01.2022 Looking to escape the heat this Saturday ? The Library will be opening from 9am 6pm on Saturday to provide a refuge for community members. We will have zooper doopers that will be available free of charge. Come and read a book, borrow a DVD or just chill. If you come down please be mindful that staff will give direction if gathering limits are reached.

This means that the CFS has declared a total fire ban in the region.
