23.01.2022 I live in Geelong, Victoria so I'm not in lockdown but lots of my family and friends who live in Melbourne are. I worry for them and, to be honest I do worry for me...not 'me' personally but specifically for my partner who is 60 and doesn't enjoy good health. I'm scared that COVID-19 will spread into our community and put him at grave risk. I'm trying to limit my exposure to people and am even more diligent about hygiene and social distancing. ... I know we are 'all in this together' but I think this analogy describes it better: While we are all in this COVID storm we're not all in the same boat, some of us are in a dingy while others are in a luxury yacht! 21.01.2022 This photo came up in my social media today as a memory from 12 months ago. I'm with my daughter, Sabrina at the theatre in Melbourne seeing 'Warhorse'. I love this photo and I remember the great energy we both felt heading into 2020. It occurred to me that 12 months ago we had no idea what the coming year would bring. Apart from the obvious (COVID-19), so much has happened for both of us that we never could have predicted. It's such an important reminder that we never reall...y know what's around the corner no matter how much we plan and think we're in control of our future. My lesson from this is to always live my life in the best way I can and to get excited for the surprises that are in store for me, even the bad surprises bring lessons and growth that goes into the rich fabric of who I am.
