22.01.2022 In November Australians expected inflation of 3.4% annually over the next two years, down 0.1% points from October but still up 0.2% points on the record low in August. Inflation Expectations are still a significant 0.6% points below the pre-pandemic month of March 2020. Over the last few months Inflation Expectations have increased from their record low of 3.2% and when assessed by home ownership status the drive higher has come from Australian home owners who now expect inflation of 3.4% annually over the next two years up 0.3% points since August. #inflationexpectations #economy

22.01.2022 Of all Australians three-in-four (77%, down 10% points on April 2020) say they are willing to be vaccinated for Coronavirus if a new vaccine becomes publicly available, while a small 12% (up 5%) of Australians are not willing and 11% don’t know, according to a special Roy Morgan survey of an Australia-wide cross-section of 1,008 Australians aged 18+ conducted in November 2020. Analysis by State show those in New South Wales are most likely (81%) to be vaccinated if one became publicly available, while West Australians (69%) and Queenslanders (70%) are the least likely. Additionally, 20% of Queenslanders would not be willing to be vaccinated if one became publicly available much higher percentage than any of the other States: WA (14%), NSW (11%), VIC (9%) and SA (6%). #vaccination #internationaltravel #coronavirus

22.01.2022 New research from Roy Morgan shows over 13.1 million Australians (62.4%) said TV was a main source of news during the June quarter 2020, up from 12.6 million (60.0%) during the March quarter. TV emerged as the favoured news source during the period of lockdown for more Australians than any other as over 4.3 million Australians were sent to work from home in March. Roy Morgan’s data on working from home shows there were still 3.9 million Australians working from home in July. #news #preferredsource #lifeinlockdown

21.01.2022 In October Australians expected inflation of 3.5% annually over the next two years, up 0.2% points from September and now up 0.3% points on the record low in August. However, Inflation Expectations are still a significant 0.5% points below the pre-pandemic month of March 2020. The opening up of Australia continued during October with Victoria finally exiting a 16-week lockdown late in the month and border restrictions between various States being relaxed. Inflation Expectations increased in all States since August except Victoria which has the lowest in the nation at only 3.2% (unchanged). #inflation #expectations #economy

The largest decline from a year ago is for Ear, Nose & Throat conditions experienced by 44.9% of Australians in the last year, down a large 14.4% points on a year ago. 19.01.2022 Of all Australians 59% now think 2021 will be ‘better’ than 2020 the highest positive view on the year ahead since 2009 following the Global Financial Crisis, a special Roy Morgan web survey conducted in November finds. A further 17% say 2021 will be ‘the same’, an all-time record low of 10% say 2021 will be ‘worse’ than 2020 and 14% don’t know. Australians are far more positive about 2021 than they were a year ago about 2020 when only 12% said 2020 would be ‘better’ than 2019 and a large 40% said the year ahead would be ‘worse’. This comes as little surprise as people hope for a return to normality after the Covid-19 pandemic. #2021 #futureoutlook #australianexpectations

18.01.2022 The Labour/Greens government enjoys the support of 54.5% of New Zealand electors as 2021 begins, down 2% points since November. 15.01.2022 Continuing its important independent work tracking the Australian experience through the COVID-19 pandemic, Roy Morgan recently released findings showing that only 42% of Victorians rate the Victorian Police either ‘Very high’ (11%) or ‘High’ (31%) for honesty and ethical standards. This is a significant drop from just three years ago, when 76% rated the force either Very high (37%) or High (49%), making it important to understand the reasons behind those ratings. We are able to do so because as well as asking respondents to rate their state police force as Very High, High, Average, Low or Very Low, we ask them to explain why they feel that way, in their own words. #publicopinion #policeforce #decline

12.01.2022 The latest data from Roy Morgan shows the total NRL supporter base has grown by 1.2% to over 5.4 million (25.9%) Australians in 2020 as the sport has dealt with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the last few months.
