25.01.2022 Hi Fellow Marines. As many may already know I'm running a Royal Marine website. Trying to record every single day of our past 354 Glorious year history. An almost impossible project to try and complete I hear you say, (but not for a Royal). Thought you might like to know that I have just converted it into an E-book (with audio). Although I will keep working on the website, and each year I hope to publish an up dated edition. Like I said it's also in Audio, so now you can go to bed, and Siri will read you a bed side story. It is available in a couple of different formats and it is FREE. Although I find the Epub, better than Kindle? https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/805378 Have a nice day Terry

08.01.2022 RMAQ Bulletin - 002/17 - 16th July 2017-Please Read! (RMAQ Bulletins will be despatched on a 'As Required' basis) 'Hot' Topics raised at the RMAQ General Meeting (#0590) held on Sunday 16th July 2017.... 1. After much dicussion it was unaminously decided that the RMAQ as an association, would now have a monthly general meeting SIX times per calendar year. Due to falling attendance numbers we will now conduct our general meetings in; January (2nd Sunday), March (2nd Sunday/AGM), May (3rd Sunday), July (2nd Sunday), September (2nd Sunday) and November (2nd Sunday - Remembrance Service). These dates will be promulgated on our website at www.rmaq.com. There will be no reduction or change to proposed social functions or other commitments. Our next meeting will be at the QMM on SUNDAY 10th SEPTEMBER 2017 at 1130hrs (second Sunday). 2. After an update and briefing by Tony Eden, President RMAGC, it was proposed and carried that the RMAGC is now officialy defunct with all remaining finances and property now disposed of. The standard is to be laid up with the assistance of our Honorary Chaplain, Father Bill Pearson. It is requested that those members who are aware of other RMAQ personnel who do not have internet access, please notify them of the above by other means. Regards Alan 'Buster' Brown VP(A) Secretary From Terry Aspinall.

06.01.2022 Just a gentle reminder that Anzac Day (25th Aptil) is fast approaching. We at the RMAQ would love to see a few new faces join us for the march. As some of you might know our numbers are dropping. If you could help support us it would be much appreciated. We form up at the top of Charlotte street around 11.30ish. Many Thanks Terry.

05.01.2022 RMAQ. Sadly another of our members passed 'Over the Bar' this week. Frank Taylor was a D-Day Veteran and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In his later life he will be remember as a regular guide around the Brisbane Maritime Museum. Jack Eaves a close friend who was with him during the D-Day landings. Tells the story of how Frank who was in charge of a landing craft, delivered his cargo of military personnel to the beach. He then returned to the mother ship. As ...it did not have davits his boat could not be lifted back on board. On his own he was then ordered to sail back to Portsmouth to await for further orders. Only military people would know that landing crafts are flat bottomed boats, and the weather was very rough. Its a safe bet to think that sea sickness would accompany the trip. Upon his arrival at Portsmouth he found a lady giving away free cups of tea and a sticky bum. Frank held his hand out to get one. Only to be told by a stern young lady that it was only for those who were going over to the D-Day beach. Taken aback he quickly told her he had just come back from the beach. Frank enjoyed his cup of tea and sticky bun. R.I.P. Frank you leave us with a lot of history. See more
