17.01.2022 A message from Peter Cooper, CEO of the Royal Agricultural Society of WA It is with genuine sadness that, in conjunction with the State Government, we confirm the cancellation of the 2020 Perth Royal Show. At every step of this process, we have been working with the State Government to develop a safe event which the WA community can be proud of. However, with the continuing outbreaks of COVID-19 in the Eastern States and the reemergence of the virus in New Zealand, it has ...become increasingly clear that we cannot proceed while simultaneously guaranteeing the safety of the public. While there is of course disappointment in making todays announcement; as the CEO of this distinguished, not-for-profit organisation, I feel enormous pride in the hard work; dedication and courage of all those involved in the preparations for the 2020 event. The fact that we were unable to deliver this annual showcase is no reflection on the efforts of our staff; volunteers; competitors and council. On the contrary their belief in giving the people of WA the event they deserved and their determination in the face of unprecedented challenges, should be applauded. While there will be tough decisions to be made over the next few months, one thing is certain. The Perth Royal Show will be back and we look forward to opening our gates to the thousands of showgoers, from across WA, very soon.

09.01.2022 Judges at the Perth Royal Beer Awards have lifted the lid on their Champion brew for 2020 and its good news for Perth and WA. Blasta Brewing Company based in Burswood took home six medals and four trophies in total, including the coveted Trophy for Champion Beer, won by their Chainbreaker IPA. 05.01.2022 This morning, Premier Mark McGowan - together with the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) - announced that the 2020 Perth Royal Show will go on! It is anticipated that the 2020 Perth Royal Show may have some slight differences, but it will have just as much agriculture, entertainment, displays, animals, food and fireworks than previous years. The Premier and RASWA CEO were also happy to advise that there will be further incentives for the public, with a flat $60 Family Ticket being available at any time leading up to and during the Show. The price of an Adult ticket has also been reduced to $25 from $32 and there will be a Half Price Kids Day and Half Price Seniors Day. The spectacular Fireworks will also be a feature of the 8 days of this years Perth Royal Show September 26 to October 3, 2020.

02.01.2022 Wine judging continues at Claremont Showground today, for the 2020 Perth Royal Wine Awards. This competition has taken place for well over 150 years, but historians looking back at photos from this year's judging will notice something a little different about our stewards! Nothing is being left to chance as we run our competitions in line with the State Government's COVID-19 restrictions. PPE, including masks and gloves, means that wine arrives at the judges tables in a safe and hygienic environment.

Not knowing a gasket from a bunghole, he studied with the Institute of Brewing and Distilling in the UK via correspondence. For the last 13 years, Will has worked in all aspects of brewing, from small scale brewpub, large scale production to wild fermentation, experimentation and barrel ageing. Will was awarded Beer and Brewer's Young Brewer of the Year in 2012 and (not so young) Brewer of the Year in 2017. Will finished up with Feral Brewing Company this year to focus on his new family and to plan for his own project in the future.
