19.01.2022 What's on during the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers at the Royal Bull's Head Inn. Who remembers their Grandmother’s Button Collection? Whether they were for ornamental or practical use, you could always trust she would have a button to match. What were buttons like in the 19th Century? During Carnival Week, on display will be a small explanatory collection of buttons from the 19th and 20th Century, made from materials including metal, fabric, vegetable ivory, glass, bone, horn and wood. Buttons made from early plastics such as celluloid, casein and Bakelite will also be displayed. Some vintage and antique buttons will be available for purchase, as well as modern buttons with a floral theme, in keeping with the Carnival of Flowers

02.01.2022 The Royal Bull's Head has been welcoming visitors and weary travelers since 1847. Join us this Sunday when we unveil a series of banners highlighting the 143 year history of the Inn, from it role in early Drayton, not only as a stopping place for visitors but for activities ranging from town meetings to church services, through to being the Lynch family home, "The Terrace" and finally to its restoration by the National Trust of Australia Queensland as the gracious nineteenth century Inn you can visit this Sunday. Sunday November, open 10am to 4pm. Picnic morning and afternoon tea available all day. Entry fees apply.

02.01.2022 The life of a nineteenth century inn keeper was certainly interesting as this tale from the Queenslander published on Saturday 14 May 1870 attests. We are not quite sure which room the sofa Mr Anderson slept on was in but perhaps this helps explain why guests experience paranormal activity at the Inn. Thank you to the Neale family descendants who sent us on this search, although this was not quite what we were expecting to find.
