23.01.2022 Looking for a cricket club to call home this season? Join the Royal Park Reds C.C. Plenty of grades to support all levels of ability and experience.... Turf and Synthetic grades available! $50 season joining fees for students and the unemployed $200 for everyone else Two day competitions play on Saturdays with a One day grade that play on Sundays. Friendly atmosphere where the social side of things is a key part of our club ethos. Training Sundays at 11am throughout September and then Tuesdays & Thursdays from October. 21.01.2022 Raise your glasses to George Bailey Reds. Captain in his last ever Shield game, Bailey went out for a golden duck. He then brought himself on to bowl pies in his hat for the last over of the match which they lost. Only thing that could have made it a more park cricket performance is if he sneakily gave himself a few of the catches when entering the scores into MyCricket the night after the game.... 20.01.2022 An incredible milestone was reached on the weekend; 500 wickets for Brett 'Rowdy' Anstey! Rowdy - what an amazing bloke to play cricket with. He's played 195 games He's bowled 2458.2 overs (including 528 maidens) He's taken 5 wickets in an innings 24 times and 10 wickets in a game twice... And today Rowdy took his 500th wicket! Now he's taken 501 wickets at an average of 15.20 and strike rate of one wicket every 29.44 balls He's also played in a couple of premierships and hit 3,000 runs and taken 67 catches as well! There have been some pretty handy pace bowlers at the Royal Park Reds over the years including - Gerry Beaton, Derek King, Graeme Lake, Suresh Sundram, Doug Fisher But Rowdy stands as the lone member of the 500 wicket club - what a great effort! - Reds statistician Kit Sleeman See more
