25.01.2022 We have a few spots available on our vaulting team. Vaulting is in short- gymnastics on horseback. It is a social sport that not only develops core strength, courage, balance and co-ordination but encourages sportsmanship and horsemanship. Absolutely no experience is necessary. Some of our vaulters have never been on a horse before!... Feel free to pop down on a Wednesday to meet our fabulous coaches, vaulters and horses. We offer weekly or fortnightly sessions on a Wednesday evening 4-6pm $45/session paid as a term fee. A one off trial is welcome!

20.01.2022 It’s okay to not compete. I have a student that only rides her horse at the walk. In her lessons, we work on accurate figures, correctly sized circles, body po...sition and lateral work. We talk about terminology, arena rules, the history of dressage and more. I have a student that never canters. We work on transitions, geometry, suppleness and more. We have lunge line lesson days where we focus on rider balance and exercises. I have a student that has no desire to compete. We work on correct basics, different movements, work over ground poles and more. We practice dressage tests as a way to mark progress and to set goals. Other riders ask these students Why don’t you trot? Why don’t you canter? When is your next show? All of these are valid questions and I believe it’s important to challenge yourself, to push yourself outside of your comfort zone to learn more and become a better rider. However. There is beauty and value in simplicity. If you find peace, happiness and fulfillment in only walking or only brushing your horse right now, that is okay. Give yourself permission without feeling guilty or bad for not doing what other equestrians are doing. You can do those other things, if you want, when you are ready. Everyone has their own individual journey to follow, their own thoughts, feelings, reasons, insecurities and desires and that is okay. : Cassidy Brooke Photography

17.01.2022 I was that kid who’d work endless hours for free to ride! My first saddle (I still have... ) cost me $50... all my savings.. and I polished the living days lights out of it with olive oil and it’s surprisingly still useable. I finally got my first horse at 17- fully self funded. I couldn’t afford anything flash so I broke him in myself. I was so proud of him! I never in my wildest dreams imagined I’d be here today- the barn owner

07.01.2022 When you’re a vaulting horse and not feeling your best, what do you do? Ask your stumpy, chubby, little brumby friend if he’ll step up? And step up he did! Dexter was pretty awesome at his second time ever vaulting.

07.01.2022 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH- ***TONKA*** Who would have thought it!? Tonka was 1/2 a mane’s width from being sold but upon a viewing from a potential buyer we thought we’d give the fella a chance- and he took it!... Apart from trying to bite all within reach of his jaws- Tonka has been wonderful! He’s calm, patient, too lazy to bother reacting to much and has learnt to lunge at a walk, trot and (very slow) canter with riders on board. He’s been an instant hit with everyone who’s enjoyed a ride on him and has just gotten on with the job and done what’s asked (and not an ounce more!) Congratulations Tonka- you’ve earned your spot in our school.

07.01.2022 What a magic day! Could it get any better for our show? Good luck to all our riders! Have fun! Ride your best and don’t worry! :) You’ve already won once you’ve put your foot in that stirrup!

05.01.2022 2020 has been an interesting year for us. Lots of ups. A few sad downs. We held clinics, school holiday camps and finally managed to run our in-house horse show. We gratefully shared Christmas with our Royal Park Family. We managed to survive Covid quite easily (feel so grateful to live and operate in WA!) and thank you all for your patience, kindness and support in these chaotic times. We welcomed Vegas and Ladybug to our family. We retired our beautiful old Jock who is ha...ppily living life in a big grassy paddock in Bridgetown. Sadly we also farewelled and paid tribute to the beautiful Ladybug too as we had to lay her to rest. With every storm, comes sunshine and then a rainbow. That silver lining is Pheonix who we’ve welcomed into our lives. We hope he enjoys a long happy life with us and helps offer a refreshing new start to 2021. So thank you to our clients, our community, our extended horse family, for being part of our journey as together we tackled 2020. We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing 2021 with you. Keep safe and see you all soon x Happy New Year!

03.01.2022 Whilst we have a few moments to breathe and regroup with a forced rest -(I use that word loosely... teaching or not, I assure you there’s no rest around horses); I thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce the heart of our Royal Park family- our coaches. My name is Monique- I am the owner and founder of Royal Park. This little riding community is my vision- I have wanted to run a riding school ever since I was a child having lessons myself. I having been riding ...since I was 6 and have been starting, training and competing ever since I got my first horse as a late teen. I’ve had experience in almost all sectors of the horse industry but love pleasure horses and eventing the most. I don’t know a life without horses in them and take great joy in sharing my passion with those around me. Gaby is my first horsie daughter. I taught her when she was only half my height. Gaby comes from a non-horsey family so who knows where she gets her horse genetics from- probably me? Gaby is a wonderfully patient and kind coach and enjoys training horses. The horses and her students love her kind energy and she has brought on many horses for us - all of them superstars. Gaby has a vast knowledge in many facets of the horse world (pony club, competition, vaulting) and has been successful in all her equestrian pursuits. Emily IS my daughter and has been riding since she was about 6. She has attended pony club for a long time and competes in events when time allows. Emily is a fabulous rider and the first one we sacrifice to sort out a horse. She has a great seat! Her students love her kind, nurturing nature and we are proud of the budding equestrians they are becoming under her guidance. Though relatively new to our team, we have known Millie A LONG time, having crossed paths on many occasions in the horse world. Millie has competed- eventing for many years but only recently acquired a new horse and is starting a very successful partnership. She has a background in helping others at Riding for the Disabled and combined with her pony club and horse experience- she’s a valuable member of our family. Our riders love her kind, patient and quiet nature and are shining as she shares her knowledge. Last but not least- our sideline coach who’s more than happy to tell you how it’s done but not actually show you or offer any help in getting it done. I guess that’s what happens when you’re 6 and been sat on a horse from 4 days old. Matilda will very proudly tell you she’s attended pony club from 12 days old and she does love to vault (because she doesn’t have to actually do any work getting the horse ready). You’ll often hear Matilda before you see her if she’s not already sidled in and commandeered a play on your phone. Matilda sees the horses as part of the family and has a gentle way with animals. I’m sure one day, when there’s something in it for her- she’ll be in the arena sharing her knowledge too!

03.01.2022 Don’t forget! We’re back! Lessons start back tomorrowDon’t forget! We’re back! Lessons start back tomorrow

03.01.2022 Wow! What a fabulous day that exceeded my expectations! I am so grateful to everyone who pitched in and helped. I don’t like to mention individuals as I always miss someone! So thank you to those who mucked out, cooked sausages, helped inside and out of the arena, pitched tents, carried water! Every bit helps! But I couldn’t have done it without Rod and Kate! So much work goes in behind the scenes! Rod was fixing sprinklers at 2am so I could water and grade the arena at first... light. Kate was doing my printing, laminating, plaiting, babysitting, meals, moral support... managing my life! Thank you to those who pitched in and scrubbed, prepped and plaited the day beforehand. You guys rock! Thank you to my long time friend and mentor- our judge Anita. Your stamina is admirable. Thank you for being so kind and fair to our riders - a big, big job! Thank you to my coaches, Gaby and Caity. I love that you’ve always got my back! Thank you to those who kindly lent us your unicorns! They were just beautiful and slotted in with our lot perfectly! To my unicorns! I am so, so, so proud. And of a massive thank you to all my riders - and their families for coming along, smiling, giving it your best go, over coming nerves and just doing so well! I’m very proud and so pleased we all pulled it off. Was so worth the wait to put this show together! The day was perfect! See more

03.01.2022 A busy day plaiting up all the pretty ponies. Thank you for all those who came to help. Xxxx

01.01.2022 Sorry guys... It looks like we aren’t allowed to operate until Saturday morning (for now). Stay safe and take care x
