05.01.2022 12 months ago, 5months pregnant and suffering from severe morning sickness, and just being sick all the time. I had to quit my job, a job I so loved. A job where afternoon shifts ended early hours in the morning just making sure a bride had her dream wedding, corporate events/functions, engagements, birthdays and anniversaries etc are done up to standard. An experience that will go a long way. I guess I'll have my former, wonderful boss Alice from @Aliceheydonevents to thank ...for that. When I started, I didn't know how to set a table for a sitdown dinner, no clue about the other side of hospitality and events/functions. Being in the Hospitality, Events and Entertainment business for a while and having attempted a business venture that failed before, I was nervous and scared of trying again but had to try again. Flower walls was whats trending at my previous job then, so I thought I'll buy one and go from there. My husband and I drove for 2 hours to pick up the first flower wall. One flower wall turned into two, then into three, along with a variety of event styling items and we're still collecting. A special shout out to my first ever casual employees, my sister Tina, and my niece Renagi who have been my backbone since day one, my best friend Ayesha who helps out whenever she can and the continuous prayers from our family. We made it. Despite being shut down over the COVID-19 period, we survived. A very special thank you to our loyal #RoyaltyGang. It's because of you guys we made it this far. Thank you all so much for doing business with us. Thank you to all our suppliers also. 2nd year has started and we have alot more items to showcase, all in due course. 05.01.2022 "To help the industry restart, Western Australias top events body has asked the State Government for a $12.5 million package to stimulate the recovery. Events ...Industry Association President Tony Williamson said responses from its 600 WA members showed more than 90 per cent lost 100 per cent of their income during the first few months of the pandemic, with more than half not expecting to re-employ all staff in the next year. "Our proposed pathway to re-establish a sustainable events industry includes $12 million for hardship grants of between $25,000 to $100,000 to eligible event businesses demonstrating extreme business distress, Mr Williamson said." This government support would allow businesses to repay outstanding debts from cancelled and postponed events as well as increased upfront costs to stage new events, including extra hygiene measures and higher insurance premiums, all on top of existing business overheads.
