13.01.2022 Pope Francis has declared this a Year of St Joseph, as we mark the 150th anniversary of Sr Joseph's declaration as Patron of the Universal Church. Today we hono...ur St Joseph the Worker whose work as a carpenter was a daily expression of love and service to Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. He is indeed a great role model to us all in selflessness. This was an office that God assigned to him and though it was hidden from men's eyes, it was an unparalleled privilege of the highest dignity and importance. As St Paul VI reminded us, St Joseph is a model of those humble ones that Christianity raises up to great destinies. He is the proof that in order to be a good and genuine follower of Christ- there is no need of great things- it is enough to have the common, simple and human virtues, but they need to be true and authentic. Let us pray then that St Joseph may inspire us all to see the fruitfulness of human work as he brought that work closer to the mystery of Redemption. St Joseph, pray for us!
